Make this manufacturer come sentenced to public wealth. When the ruling classes protect themselves. With the fine and merry go round be the one percent. We can all middle of the room see. The real news. Updates on that fatal plane crash for the meantime lets also check out some of the stories the last seven days too in the weekly and around seven hundred fifty thousand children a struggling to get basic medical services in the war torn iraqi city of mosul according to the u. N. Childrens rights body unicef an estimated seventy four Million Dollars in needed in fact to rebuild Health Facilities for children there seven months on from the euphoria that greeted the liberation of mosul from Islamic State that iraqi city is very much struggling to get back on its feet. That they are not mature at all. For it. The number of. Health care centers or hospitals is very limited the extent of the damage has affected it i was there in one of the Health Centers the other day the one family came in with their baby is a two month old baby they wanted a vaccinated there was vaccine there was everything there and starts were seeing over one hundred children a day were able to vaccinate this child but those families have to walk far i also saw the baby unit there were nine incubate has six of which which were filled with premature babies who would not have survived unless those incubate as with their its a wide area wide level of levels of devastation families have to walk enormous distances to be able to get the health care what were saying is that the Cumulative Health care that is required of any child anywhere else in the world is not available yet in mosul. And more than half a year since its liberation that city remains strewn with corpses to a horrifying site a warning you may find some of the pictures can be distressing the condition of many of those bodies is making it really difficult to confirm the identities of course most of the victims do appear to be civilians women children elderly residents are calling on the government to do something about the situation and the risks they are exposing to the health of people under live amongst all this unicefs representative in iraq Peter Hawkins describes the situation in mosul is extremely worrying i think what we need to understand is the extent of the problem this is a massive city mosul city probably faced one of the biggest urban warfare since World War Two and. Two point two million to two point four Million People affected its have been an enormous challenge for everybody to try and clear everything up and get the people working again. The headlines this week through the worlds biggest social media firms were tackled on thursday by british lawmakers who took the unusual step of conducting a parliamentary hearing outside britain as they tried yet again to pin down the companies over alleged russian interference during the brics it vote but yet again too it seemed there was little if anything to back up those accusations. We looked at all advertisements with any connection to russia and we found no evidence of our services being used to interfere in the referendum a very small number of suspects its Research Agency linked accounts forty nine such accounts were active during the campaign which represents less than point normal some of the total number of accounts these are very low level things until we completed this of us gets we wont know but what we havent had this. Information thats enabled us to target on a particular page or a particular phenomenon despite all their commitment enthusiasm and hard work spanning over a period of really several months when this inquiry kick started it seems like the u. K. Parliamentary committee thats trying to find out the truth about a russian any brecht that meddling they seem to be really hitting a brick wall this week they travelled all the way to washington thousand thousands of miles presumably having spent thousands of pounds to get there and what they ended up with while questioning the executives of twitter you tube and facebook was just a frustration it seems and that was thick in the atmosphere Investigative Journalism for instance as it led to suggestion that there are lots of campaigns going to have it looks like you havent looked at you thats the thing you havent looked at this economy. Going on in the horror well it seems who did look with twitter and what they said they found was that they were only forty nine accounts connected to russia during the time of the bracks it referendum again im no mathematician so correct me if im wrong perhaps but it seems that there is and this is really nothing to write home about given that twitter has hundreds of millions of accounts and despite the chair of this Committee Damian Collins saying that his quote instinct tells him that the numbers should be higher that did not turn out to be the case so despite this ghost chasing continuing and the committee keeping asking the executives to look harder it seems no fruitful results so far. But it makes great headlines the similarly huge appetite for this in the media with little for them to work with still because some of these headlines for instance this one reads twitters finally conceded that russian accounts tried to influence breaks it but read on its only a passing mention to explain the story is about just a few dozen accounts say too that this times headline here at mits the existence of socalled russian trolls but again read on the first paragraph reveals there were only forty nine suspicious accounts another example of throw away here you need to dig even deeper to find the actual numbers in this lengthy article radio talk show host john galt spoke to a spot at all his view is that the Russian Investigation may well be a wild goose chase after all. This is a farce these employees went all the way to washington to question do they understand how the internet works theyre going to got them on a skype call and question its facile call an issue a waste of my taxpayers money and it served very very annoying its a joke they act in an almost Kangaroo Court fashion firing questions at you and hardly waiting to listen to the answers you know or i dont think the British Public care they know why people voted for it lets just get over it and accept democracy. But the main news story were covering this afternoon is a breaking news story from russia or a tragedy a plane crash a passenger plane crash indeed sixty five passengers and six crew on board has crashed just outside moscow this afternoon just minutes after taking off youre the first pictures of the site of that crash the video was apparently shot by locals there some of the reporting what they describe as a Mushroom Cloud going up in the such as the force of explosion to be confirmed the village where the plane came down is located about sixty kilometers southeast of moscow plane was heading southeast of the time dont towards the urals Emergency Service is struggling to reach that area today because of heavy snowfall there now you can see the trajectory of the flights here for flight radar it took off from domodedovo airport in the russian capital is one of the three main airports that serves moscow and the surrounding region then diverted east before literally disappearing from the radar just four minutes after taking off or some very hard to spread six and a half hours and feet of still in that maximum thrust takeoff stage as mentioned that the plane that was an answer of one for eight plane owned by the surat off Airline Company pretty new one it only took its maiden flight back in two thousand and ten that kind of plane was a joint development tween ukraine and Russian Developers in its day this specific model of plane its a Regional Commuter if you like it can reach. Those average speeds but eight hundred kilometers now capable of carrying up to eighty passengers on board so it wasnt totally full today but. Sadly near enough no lets get the latest details from lord cast you have to believe hes on the line now you have more against the of the crash site is he there yet is there an understanding that conditions are really difficult. Where are you going to cut him up. Thank you guys more at tell us whats happening at the moment i think literally within about one kilometer from the actual crash site the police wont let you or any other me to go any further you literally have to war those three or four kilometers even to where you are there yeah whats happening now. Well theres a number of Police Cordons that have been set up to keep everyone that doesnt need to be here out of here at first they let the press through and we didnt but those that arrived after us thirty minutes off theyve been theyve been blocked about five kilometers away from me again at the crash site is about a kilometer ten minutes walk from here in these in this weather theres a lot of the many rescuers here. Fire trucks ambulances you know you can see the sirens the rescue operation is in full swing i gather they very recovered one of the black boxes that have recorded the flight the details incredibly important to establish a you know to get a picture of what happened in this on this fateful flight again no survivors sixty five classes just seventy one people with crew six crew members all of them russians all of them locals from the autumn pool. The city of course where this jet was flying the rescue operation underway again you can see the weather yourself. Making things any easier the crash site itself the plane landed on the field which is which is you know its its very deep snow that which wasnt clear that would be impossible to do but emergency vehicles are trying to clear the roads themselves were hearing some one witness claiming its place to be confirmed but there was an explosion while the plane was to them a local man there reporting that the explosion was huge everything you said was shaking he said i heard the noise of jet turbines then silence also. Its understood that this plane may have broken apart in the sky rescue workers saying there are many many bodies lying there in the snow tonight they have confirmed when they were the last hour or so that everyone on the plane all seventy one dollar idea. We have weve heard this before the in the shooting and officially announce this the rescuers that are walking to and fro here they said no survivors and you know its understandable given the force is a good plane plummeting that hundreds of kilometers an hour into were into the ground here its survivors are pretty highly highly unlikely unfortunately. But of course if youre a Family Member you you hope you pray dont you until the very last that maybe there is a survivor here theres been conflicting information about whether or no those pilots managed to radio through a request for an Emergency Landing at the as you called ski airport thats not far from the crash site now that was an initial report but it seems you cause you said no the pilots didnt do that anymore on that line. With the initial reports the room was said that the pilot schooled in technical difficulties with the aircraft media the. After takeoff they were air they were in the air for only minutes seven minutes i think it was before they disappeared off radar as before this this crash the crash itself still going to locals earlier they said that there was no fire in the air the fireball the explosion happened when the jet hit the ground itself but theres a cause of scare port we heard again reports from them that there was no that they received no request for an Emergency Landing authorities the tower ski airport itself so theres a lot of conflicting information earlier there was a report that there was a me there collision that this aircraft the n one four eight crashed with a helicopter in the air we heard afterwards immediately afterwards the rescue saying theyve seen no evidence of this no he called the pods on the ground and this scenario a midair collision is highly unlikely given how the organize the traffic heavy and organized the traffic air traffic in moscow over moscow at ease there were reports about talk about the icing on the plane that the pilots had refused the icing. Again merely reports a rumor at this stage were still in the early hours and you know we can guess at what the reasons for this crash who we want the aircraft itself the end of the one four eight the very recent manufacture date production date two thousand and ten so you know technical difficulties juju age are highly unlikely in that scenario as well meteorologist of chippin they said that this weather was you know that nothing good it wouldnt have led to a crash like this the pilots operate in function in this weather weather even worse than this all the time without the. Blooms. Lets get back to it terrible tragedy in that field just about a mile from where you are as you say tonight if you get your information through tonight the thoughts as well of course as ever with the emergency crews have to arrive on site there and deal with what they have to deal with as well bad scene thanks for now. Youve been following the details of this president putin earlier on came out and gave his condolences there is no thought as was saying that the studio course youre across a lot was russian was could you speak russian much more fluid in the im right in saying all confirmed dead no survivors at this point we saw those harrowing pictures did we earlier on the poor guy at the airport domodedovo airport literally howling it is now a nightmare scenario that you can never imagine happening just never happens but once again a fatal air crash here in russia today any more speculation well theres lots of speculation many more thoughts on whats happening here the authorities said they found one of the crucial two black boxes because one is a technical one isnt it the other is a voice data recorder listening to what the pilot said the kind of hope to find the two to mesh it together you know what whats being said now youre across our social media as well what are you saying hoping that of course the condition of that black box allows for its analysis that its not too badly damaged after that crash condolence as you said coming in from police are not officially monday if you twelve more hours and hours as an official day of mourning across russia as is often done in these cases condolences beginning to come in international the president of lithuania paul garia. From germany as well coming in expressing solidarity condolences with all the victims of that crash in terms of the Family Members we mentioned earlier you know the truth for those special race has been organized from moscow dermod over to all of us to bring the the friends and family of those victims should they need to go. Oh its up to theories of course as we said still largely resolving around speculation of course theories ruled out the midair collision theory ruled out still uncertain though as to how an engine failure if that is indeed what it was could resulted in such a horrific crash planes have made dont they to be able to design i mean its crucial that this was in the climb stages one of those its the climb and it is the takeoff or landing this is the most critical thing is pilots will tell you course those engines full throttle at full thrust was in the thousand feet spose for a two and a half hour flight even an internal one it would get up to Something Like thirty five thirty thirty five maybe i wouldnt be forty thousand feet but Something Like that too is still way into the climb that is a time where one of those found blades can often go off a look at aviation harold and this kind of thing is it happens almost every day where a plane gives the plant is in theory that its a contained problem its a sin are upon us of course trying for all the time theyre prepared for on the planes are fully equipped to fly on one engine as was the last of course that found blade something a fuel line or a control line maybe hydraulics thats when you get the problems and maybe just maybe thats whats thats whats happened today thought he still dont know but there was another line wasnt there about play in the snow here i will just come back to moscow over to a better holiday but youve been here throughout the last week whats it been like i mean to put it into perspective statistically within two days the monthly allowance of snow with a monthly expected out of one hundred twenty percent occurred in about two to four days kevin the roads have been a nightmare the traffic flights been canceled as well but interestingly what the investigators say the mutual ill just say despite the difficulties on the ground in moscow this weather you know severe as it is for people walking on the streets shouldnt have affected that plane there was no high wind speeds there was no poor vision whatever happened up there on the air in the final moment. Is truly a mystery one of the experts we are their own julie embraced thought that maybe it could be Something Like sort of wind shear or something but that couldve accounted for that flight Data Tracking thing looking at earlier on saying that the plane dropped about a thousand feet then got up again. That may account for it may not lets talk to Richard Bloom hes an Aviation Security expert what does he think about it hey richard thanks for coming online sadly so was able to get guys like you on it so its in tragic circumstances and yet again whove got another very fatal plane crash were hearing that the first black box has now been found thats very important to course. Its very important of course were dealing with a great great tragedy i feel very bad that were communicating in such a context with the tragedy but i would like to share there are common protocol for an investigation through various aspects security and safety factor. A few things really briefly would be the Structural Integrity of the aircraft if used to lauch the engines and so on then you look at various energies to us and its whether were talking Electrical Systems power for the engines things that are. Going to really nominally external to any aircraft that could include anything from up bird strike a missile strike a collision with another aircraft interaction with an unusual weather phenomenon and then lastly you have to look out about human issues thats anything from intentional sabotage terrorism mistakes to do fatigue or poor training all the things that are in a safety and security protocol and the investigation proceeds i think we will wind down and get to the bottom of what happened. How important is it. Not to play next of always being led to believe the most crucial parts of a most dangerous parts of a plane fly the takeoff and landing again at takeoff what it was just a couple of minutes into that flight just about six thousand fate those engines will be working flat out at that point yet. Well i think the real issue is when youre taking off and when youre landing i think you have a great deal of factors both internal and external that can be involved you have some of the engine but i think the right thing to do is go step by step through protocols with an appropriate investigation and then i think you cannot prioritize the more likely cause of this tragedy what about this plane craney and russian developed plane and right what do we know about that its pretty new this was just made its first flight in twenty ten think it was developed around about two thousand and four something that its had no fatal crashes i believe theres one incident that been no fatal crashes before it how widely used is it around the world and here in russia what we know about it well i think whats really important when youre looking at any particular aircraft you look at the type of aircraft in the history. But then you also have to look at the young maintenance of the particular wrapped in thats where Human Factors get involved as well in terms of Operation Maintenance and the people involved. In their training how well they were paying attention to their own protocols for maintaining the aft these are the kinds of things even appetite but the aircraft is very very friendly and can be an issue how its being maintained by particular in the little group this is a regional flight as we know all mileage is a. Lot of planes in the sky as much as possible because a plane on the ground doesnt make them any money to regional flights because theyve got a higher frequency this is there any correlation with. That degradation of safety or no. Intercontinental flights. Well what do your talking about International Aviation government policy when it comes to aviation and then the trade offs with the airlines in terms of safety and Security Issues on the one hand in the financial and profit issues on the other again there are standard protocols for how people make decisions about this kind of thing and as the investigation proceeds i think well have a greater probability of actually coming to a decision about whether the right things occurred in this particular tragedy if it if it was an engine failure an uncontained engine failure in theory the place should have still carried on flying the yeah but how much warning would the pilots have. Well i think that will. Get that information as the investigation goes on but thats another factor i dont think men change out the information that the people in the cockpit actually had to give it happen right information whether any anomalies in the information they were getting what they processing the information appropriately were just might have been happening at that point in terms of listening to a journalist awareness ultimately and very often you look at interactions between the people in the cockpit and the information theyre getting and thats the kind of thing also that will be analyzed during the investigation. Richard thanks to tom ridge a blue Aviation Security expert professor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University thank you thank you very much. This is out international its kevin owen here was going to bring you the weekly of course that does the studio as well around about the stories the last seven days but a biggest stories overtaken all that the south and there is a passenger plane has crashed just outside moscow its killed seventy one are reported not continues after the break. Despite its time going into history deceive us union i know has dominated International Sport however this was not about the motives of those champions from the. Photo you know. Right now that youre worth. More moved over the board over there be just youre going to use your dramatic describe were going to look at what the issues was the good example for you if you were to the first some of your limpy team of one nine hundred fifty two when she did seeds of ifas concentration camp prisoners and frontline soldiers for which there may be a few good through there is corruption you can you know much better than the ship because youre bursting with it youre in for the month over there shall go and theyre going to have a wonderful future you think didier were going to go with. The nations youre push through for through personal personal enthusiasm you do when youre at the National Mourning putin youre there with the workers here we are in the world now as you know can we. Thats in American Interest to not see any russians die in terrorist attacks as it is in russian interest to prevent any terrorist attacks in the United States or elsewhere in the world so i dont think theres any dispute on that in congress and i think maybe some of the posturing is frankly political as opposed to substantive. Walks selling you on the idea that dropping bombs brings police to the Chicken Hawks forcing you to fight the battle. For new socks credit tell you that celebrity gossip and tabloid by style for the most important. Thing you are not cool enough to buy their products. Are the hawks that we along with our loved ones. I. Think. I. Am going. To simply i. Breaking news here not International Story today a passenger plane with seventy one on board is crushed chilled out for took off from a moscow airport and. There are no survivors the authorities are investigating possible channels to establish exactly what went so bad. Russias Emergency Services say theyve recovered one of the planes black boxes now in the last hour or so as the search continues around the clock. For good afternoon is Kevin Hawkins with me in the studio rolling coverage of the
