The BKS criticised the government’s decision to allow import of pulses, saying the move will deter farmers from sowing these crops during the Kharif season.
NEW DELHI: A day after left-linked All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) demanded roll back of the hike in fertiliser prices, RSS farm-affiliate Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) on Wednesday raised the issue and sought the government’s intervention to check “exploitation of farmers”.
The BKS also criticised the government’s decision to allow import of pulses such as tur, urad and moong, saying the move will deter farmers from sowing these crops during the upcoming Kharif season. The group demanded withdrawal of the decision taken last week to keep retail prices of pulses under check for consumers.
