Abid Khan will be the new operations Manager for East Lancashire
A POLICE boss has spoken of his pride at being promoted to a top role within the constabulary, looking after the patch that he was born and raised in.
Superintendent Abid Khan was this week welcomed as Operations Manager at Greenbank Police Station in Blackburn, where he will oversee policing in Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, the Ribble Valley and his home borough of Rossendale.
Supt Khan grew up in town of Haslingden, where he began his career as a police officer before quickly working his way through the ranks.
During an interview with the Lancashire Telegraph, Supt Khan said it was an immense privilege take the reins in such a sough-after role, alongside colleague Supt Andrea Barrow.
