Rosa to stay on as State Education Commissioner

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Education Department Monday announced Interim State Education Commissioner will stay on.
The Board of Regents unanimously appointed Dr. Betty Rosa as permanent Commissioner of Education and President of the University of the State of New York.
She's filled the role since August, and is the first Latina to serve as Education Commissioner.
New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Executive Director Robert Schneider made the following statement on the decision:
"NYSSBA is pleased to congratulate Betty Rosa on her selection today as state Education Commissioner.
