Willie Smith, 71, has been trying to get a COVID-19 vaccine for weeks, but says he has been unable to get a slot. The Bradenton resident was ineligible to get vaccinated at a pop-up clinic Gov. Ron DeSantis staged in a wealthy community 12 miles to the east in February because it was restricted to residents there.
BRADENTON, Fla. – Over and over and over, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has described his COVID-19 vaccination plan in just two words: “Seniors First” — yet the addition of two extra words at the beginning might have made it far more accurate: “Rich” and “White.”
