Rohingya man killed in ‘gunfight’ with BGB in Bandarban

A Rohingya man suspected to be a yaba trader, was killed in a "gunfight" with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban early today.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim (30), son of Syed Alam, resident of Kutupalong Lambashia Rohingya camp in Ukhia, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Lieutenant Colonel Ali Haider Azad Ahmed, commanding officer (CO) of BGB 34 battalion.
BGB men also recovered 80,000 pieces of yaba pills, one hand-made pipe gun, and two fresh cartridges from the scene.
The alleged gunfight took place at Aambagan area adjacent to Baishfari border around 12:30am, said the BGB official.
