ROCKFORD — Neighbors including leaders of Midway Village Museum are raising concerns about a 240-unit apartment complex and four-story assisted living facility proposed on Garrett Lane near the Home Depot.
Rockford City Council will consider the proposal in the coming weeks after delaying a vote on a development plan to give residents and neighbors the chance to meet with the developer and discuss their concerns, said Alderman Tim Durkee, a Republican who represents the 1st Ward where the development is proposed.
"Midway Village would like a chance to meet and talk with the developer and some of the neighbors would like the chance to meet with the developer about the scope of the project and have some input on the final design," Durkee said. "The elevations haven't been done yet. So the project is still very, very preliminary."
