Robin David, coordinator of Grand Forks Public Schools’ Mentor Center, has been selected as the recipient of this year’s #InnovativeND Award for Collaborative Culture.
The award was announced at the 2021 Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education on Monday, June 7, in Bismarck.
The #InnovativeND awards recognize students, educators, schools and districts that lead by example and have embraced innovation for the benefit of schools and students, according to an announcement from the school district.
The Mentor Center, which opened in January on the UND campus, is dedicated to filling a gap for all middle and high school students, especially those who are distance learning on a full- or part-time basis during the pandemic. It serves as a face-to-face, drop-in resource center for students to receive academic, social-emotional and technology support.
