Rob Gronkowski was brought into WWE in the early months of 2020, joining the roster as a planned in-ring competitor. However, before any plans for Gronkowski to step inside a WWE ring could come to fruition, he announced his return to the NFL and was released from his WWE contract. Now though, Fightful Select have offered a further update on what Gronkowski’s plans within WWE would have been.
The report states that, “Gronkowski’s run was to lead to something at SummerSlam 2020 with Mojo Rawley, with the line of thinking being that Gronkowski would be a huge draw in the Boston area, where he played for years.”
