KANGAR (Bernama): The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) urges the Perlis government to take immediate action to address the problem of river pollution in the state to ensure its water quality remains first class.
MNS president Professor Dr Ahmad Ismail said the issue of pollution in Sungai Ngulang could still be addressed as the level of pollution in the river was not as bad as in other rivers.
"Perlis is fortunate because the water quality in most of its rivers is categorised as Class One by the Environment Department (DOE), with the Water Quality Index (WQI) at a reading of 92.7 to 100.0, apart from having a healthy ecosystem.
