No one can deny that Hillsong is an amazing resource of songs for praise, worship and self-examination to the worldwide Church, across national and denominational boundaries. The flow of songs continues here with 13 live tracks recorded across three dates in March 2009, excellently led by Darlene Zschech and Reuben Morgan. The songs are about "FAITH in the midst of personal circumstances, HOPE in Jesus for the future and LOVE, one for another." The opening "The First And The Last" sets the tone with its driving confidence, declaring Jesus' eternal nature, and if you are one of those who says you're tired of the "Hillsong sound" you might be tempted to stop there - that would be a huge mistake! There is plenty of that, but listen on and you will be drawn to more reflective worship as you gaze upon the cross in "It's Your Love", as you sing "It's your blood that has claimed me." You'll be drawn into the simple "I Will Exalt You" as "His Glory Appears" at the cross. "We Will See Him" points us to the future glory of the Lord's return and "You Hold Me Now" closes with the church in eternity. It's a powerful, wonderful journey and I can see a good number of these songs becoming favourites, apart from the couple that are pitched too high for any normal congregation to sing! At 75 minutes it's also great value, so highly recommended!
