Green said he understood some people's hesitancy to get the vaccine based on a history of discrimination in the healthcare system and experiments conducted on Black Americans by the federal government.
"But I think we're in a different place now," he said. "I think this pandemic has taken a lot of people and has a lot of people ill. And you don't just get over it and get shopping. There's a lot of long-term effects, you see. So I think we may need to get in line and take this."
Green said he was going to encourage all of his church members to get vaccinated as well.
