Residents warned against contact with Patchogue waterways after raw sewage spill

A pipe failed during sewer improvements in Patchogue that caused raw sewage to discharge into a storm drain and reach surface waters, health officials said. Residents and fishermen should avoid contact with those waterways until 10 a.m. Saturday.
