WINTERSVILLE — Wintersville Council heard Thursday from two residents who questioned a village ordinance against parking on snow-covered roads.
The ordinance states residents must move their vehicles into driveways between Nov. 1 and March 15, when snow falls, to accommodate village crews plowing snow from the often narrow streets or face a fine not less than $25.
It states a street committee may consider exceptions, such as residences that have no driveways or steep ones.
Resident Christine Fenske told council she has lived on Meadow Road for 16 years and not received a ticket for parking on the road. Fenske said there’s not room in her driveway for the three vehicles owned by her family.
