(NEWTON) The Jasper County Board had its regular monthly meeting a week ago last night in Newton. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : on a 8 to 4 vote, approved a motion to adopt the 2022 County Reapportionment Resolution, which calls for the reduction of one board member per district, not to mention less compensation per board member – every ten years a county board is required to reappotion so that each member of the board represents the same number of people : on a 7 to 5 vote, turned down a motion to consolidate the Ste. Marie precincts into one : approved the appointments of Tom Clark and Dr. Jacy Ghast to three year terms on the County Board of Health : approved the Jasper County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan : approved the Jasper County Law Enforcement Construction Line of Credit : heard and reviewed the various committee and department reports as presented : noted that the county’s Annual Probation Plan had been approved by the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts : no closed session was held : the next regular monthly meeting of the Jasper County Board is June 10, 2021.
