Region could see severe storms Friday, Tuesday
Wichita Falls and North Texas could see severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening with an even greater storm risk Tuesday.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed Wichita Falls at a border between Slight Risk and Enhanced Risk for severe weather.
The greatest threat from storms in North Texas will be very large hail and strong winds. Tornadoes could occur, but the risk was considered low as of Friday morning.
Meteorologists are watching for the development of a "Triple Point," -- a feature that plays into the initiation of storms -- between Wichita Falls and Childress this afternoon. If that occurs, supercell thunderstorms may develop quickly.
