Reed named HPS on call firefighter of the year

HOLLAND — The Holland Department of Public Safety named Firefighter William Reed as its 2021 Paid On Call Firefighter of the Year, it announced in a release Tuesday. Reed, a California native who began working with the Holland Department in 2014, has been involved in fighting fires since 1988.
He served as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Moraga, San Francisco, Alameda and Saugatuck Fire Departments before starting with HFD. Before retiring, Reed worked at Holland Hospital as a basic life support instructor-coordinator and advanced cardiovascular life support instructor-coordinator.
Reed currently is assigned to Station No. 3 in Holland.
