ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage reached 60° for the second time in five days, breaking another record high temperature!
The previous record was just 57° set in 1956. A normal high temperature on April 23rd is only 48°. Anchorage has reached at least 51° for eight days straight, and Friday’s record high comes just 5 days after we set a record high of 61° earlier in the week.
There are only 10 other years on record with even one 60° day in April and only 3 other years with 2 60° days. The most 60 degree days we’ve ever seen in April is six, that was in 2005.
