The mountain of new COVID-19 cases has already put Williamson County into the red phase and it is possible Travis County may move into Stage 5.
AUSTIN, Texas - The recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Central Texas is drawing concerns from local hospitals. 
"Unfortunately the Delta variant is a lot more infectious than we’ve seen with other strains and it’s spreading through the community very rapidly," said Dr. Rob Watson, chief medical officer at Baylor Scott & White Health-Greater Austin region.
