A Florence man has been taken into custody after Rankin County deputies spent the night looking for him in the woods after receiving a call about an armed man.
Officials said Randy Gilmore, 27, was taken into custody Friday morning while trying to flag down cars. He was taken to the Rankin County Jail, charged with disorderly conduct and failure to comply.
Rankin County Sheriff's Office legal counsel Paul Holley said deputies received a call at 6 p.m. Thursday that Gilmore was carrying several guns. According to a news release early Friday afternoon, deputies were sent to George Warren Road near Shiloh Road to search for Gilmore, who had found a ride to another location.
