Sikkim Flash Floods Live News Update: On day four after a flash flood wreaked havoc in Sikkim's Teesta basin, the number of bodies recovered from the river and mud embankments downstream rose to 26, including seven army men. Of the 23 army personnel who had gone missing from Bardang area, the bodies of seven have been recovered from different areas downstream while one army man had been rescued alive earlier and the search for the remaining is continuing both in Sikkim and north Bengal. More than 142 are still missing.Meghalaya, West Bengal have activated state hotline numbers for their state citizens stuck there.Defence PRO, Lt. Col. Mahendra Rawat also said: "Due to severe floods in Sikkim, certain military equipment including firearms and explosives were carried away in Teesta River. An urgent notice for the public has already been issued by Jalpaiguri district authorities."He also said that the Army has established lookout teams all along the river downstream.In a statement, the Army said: "We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any unfamiliar objects, crates, packages, firearms or any suspicious item floating in the water to the nearest police station immediately.
