Rajasthan CM Announcement News Live: The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs in Rajasthan are set to officially select the next chief minister of the state after securing a majority with 115 seats out of 199 seats for which polling was done in a single phase on November 25. This will bring an end to the suspense of the CM candidate since the results were announced on December 3. Several prominent names have emerged as frontrunners for the coveted position of Chief Minister. The top names include former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, as well as Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw. Rajasthan, one of the three states won by the BJP in the recent elections, others being Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for which the party has already announced Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai as the CM-designates respectively.The decision in Rajasthan, however, is awaited and is expected to be unveiled during the legislature party meeting scheduled for 4 pm on the present day. BJP workers have started gathering outside the Rajasthan BJP office in anticipation of the new CM name. Meanwhile, the nominations for the last seat of Rajasthan, i.e Karanpur assembly seat is set to begin today and continue till December 19. The polling for the constituency was adjourned due to the demise of Gurmeet Singh Kooner, the Congress candidate. The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on December 20, and the final day for withdrawal of nominations is December 22.
