Racenet lays across Australia for Saturday
Comments
We’ve all put our heads together in the Racenet office again this week and come up with a set of favoured runners we think are likely to find one better on Saturday.
NOTE: Races are listed in order of running based on Australian Eastern Standard Time.
HARPO MARX
(Randwick – 1.20pm (AEST) – Race 5 No. 3) – There’s no doubting he’s come back in good order and now getting to his preferred distance range but there’s a few negatives here that we are not willing to ignore. The three knocks here are his ability on rain-affected ground, the 2000m trip and the barrier. We believe he’s a horse better suited beyond 2000m and while he did chalk up two wins over this trip last prep – they were at Wyong in a Class 1/Maiden Plate and at Rosehill on a good track. The forecast in Sydney is for some decent rain on Friday – 10 to 20m and Harpo Marx has won one from 11 on soft and heavy tracks. Then you come to the barrier, hard to see him doing anything but go back from that draw and the task becomes harder again.
