A truck driver banned from travelling on a passenger ferry service for a year after the transport company said he swore at staff when he took off his mask while a customer during a Covid outbreak has blasted the decision as 'extreme'.
Michael Thompson, who lives on Russell Island, Queensland, was told by Sealink Bay Islands his 'behaviour' on board their vessels on two occasions in January had led to the 12-month ban - including one incident were police were called.
Mr Thompson was also issued with a $130-on-the-spot fine by cops. Masks were mandatory in Greater Brisbane in all settings outside the home at the time after a hotel quarantine cleaner contracted Covid.
