Queensland Education Minister Grace Grace said the state's students already receive "extensive financial literacy education" as she announced the cancellation of the 'Dollarmites Club' today.
The school program has been operating for nearly 90 years and was first instituted when the bank was still government-owned and operated in 1931.

Ms Grace said the state's youth are "growing up in a world where money can literally be at their fingertips" and learn how to manage their money in school.
"It's a different digital world now to when school banking began more than 50 years ago," Ms Grace said.
