The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.6 quake in Kyrgyzstan near Talas, Talas District, 31 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Wednesday 31 March 2021 at 7:43 am local time at a very shallow depth of 1 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
