Qld vaccination hubs roll out allergic reaction notices17/03/2021|3min
Queensland's vaccination hubs have begun rolling out notices for severe allergic reactions after four cases of anaphylaxis were recorded in 48 hours across the state during the administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Health authorities sought to reassure residents the four cases - one in Bundaberg, one in Toowoomba, and two in Ipswich - were treated immediately and have all returned home following a period of monitoring.
Anaphylaxis and other allergic reactions were not completely unexpected as a possible side-effect of these vaccines, however, any delays to vaccine rollout or further amendments to current measures must be determined by the federal government.
