A 51-year-old hosiery trader died due to suspected drug overdose at a hotel in Punjab's Ludhiana, following which police detained an NRI under the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Late Tuesday, the two checked into a hotel in Bahadur House, where they allegedly consumed drugs.
Police have recovered some cigarettes and syringes from the hotel room.
