The complainant has paid Rs 1.45 crore to the accused via cheques and Rs 1.75 lakh in cash. The accused has not been arrested yet.

Pune: A 58-year-old woman, told by a doctor that she has cancer, was cheated of Rs 1.47 crore in the name of treatment. She was told that she was suffering from a liver disease and then cancer and the doctor siphoned the money.
Sushma Jadhav works as an auditor at the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts. She recorded the FIR in this case at the Wanavdi police station on December 18. The police have booked the doctor, Vidya Dhananjay Gondras of Wanavdi, under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
