The agreement does not specify where in Pueblo the work will be done.
Under federal court rules, the wildlife services agency is required to file in court its response with its side of the dispute after the lawsuit is served.
The litigation process begins after that occurs.
"Prairie Protection’s mission is to protect prairie dogs to support thriving, contiguous, natural prairies across Colorado sufficient to allow the reintroduction and survival of charismatic species such as black-footed ferrets and burrowing owls", according to the lawsuit. "Prairie dogs are a keystone species of the grasslands, and support upwards of 180 other species."
