One-off housing would be restricted under the current proposals.
The public is being reminded that 12 noon today is the deadline for submissions on the draft Louth County Development Plan - which contains a controversial proposal to restrict one-off rural housing.
The Chief Executive told the local authority's monthly meeting on Monday the council is receiving a lot of planning applications for one-off builds, with planners refusing permission for a lot of them, with Joan Martin saying people are coming in with all sorts of applications.
She added that while it wasn't possible to hold public meetings due to the Covid restrictions, there isn't a great history of engagement with the public on open days and she does not believe the pandemic has had an impact in terms of feedback.
