A public health alert has been issued over Wegmans-brand ground turkey and others possibly tied to illnesses in multiple states.
The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the alert over the weekend for approximately 211,406 pounds of raw ground turkey products linked to salmonella hadar illness. The products were produced by Pennsylvania-based Plainville Brands, LLC, and shipped to stores nationwide, including Wegmans locations under the Rochester-based grocery store chain’s name brand.
