PORTSMOUTH — No injuries were reported as of 3:45 p.m. following a structure fire Wednesday afternoon on Prudence Island.
"They had a shed on fire, extended to another shed, extended to a house" and to a large area of brush, Portsmouth Fire Chief Paul Ford said. He noted that it was too early to say where the fire started.
When asked for a location, Ford mentioned Deer Lane but had to end the phone call abruptly.
Before hanging up, he said the Portsmouth Fire Department was still on scene. The Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department also responded along with the Bristol Fire Department, and the Warren Fire Department was en route.
