Charlotte, N.C. — If you knew nothing about the sport and had walked into the first set of Tuesday's N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A playoff opener at Providence High School, you might would be confused about the rules.
No, there is no rule that says Katie Cruise has to serve every point. It only looks that way.
The star junior setter served 10 consecutive points in a runaway first set to set the tone for the Panthers in a 3-0 (25-7, 25-22, 25-16) victory over Jordan to advance.
