Over the weekend, comments made by Health Minister Stephen Donnelly about looking at the possibility of prioritising the 18-30 age group in the vaccine roll-out as a strategy to curb the spread of the virus once society begins to reopen, were met by widespread criticism.
The Health Minister subsequently abandoned this idea – but is there any merit in it?
On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Professor of Immunology at UCC, Liam Fanning, about this and also about the idea of spacing the doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
