WORTHINGTON — A Rushmore man will serve three years of supervised probation for a criminal case in which he was accused of stealing a vehicle from a family member.
Tyler Ober, 29, of Rushmore, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle last October. At the time, he told police he had simply taken the vehicle without asking, and had then woken up the next morning to find it missing from his possession.
He pleaded guilty to the offense, and appeared for sentencing Friday.
Fifth Judicial District Judge Sherry Haley granted Ober a stay of adjudication, meaning she did not judge him to be guilty. Haley ordered him to serve three years of supervised probation and pay a $300 fine.
