PRISONS throughout the country have been ahead of the curve in the battle against Covid-19.
Before any measures were put in place by the Government here, the Prison Officers Association began planning for the virus’ imminent arrival to Ireland and what they wanted to be implemented to protect their members.

As the virus took hold here in March and the country shut down, the jail system managed to remain coronavirus-free for months because of the structures in place.
