PRINCETON — Town meeting voters will be asked to fund construction documents for a new public safety building, an initial step toward building on the site of the Princeton Center, a former school and town senior center.
If the warrant article fails to pass at the May 15 town meeting, select board member Richard Bisk said voters will still need to think about what happens to the Boylston Avenue site, which has been closed since 2017.
“I think it’s important that people be aware that there’s a cost of doing nothing,” Bisk said.
The cost goes beyond continuing to make patchwork repairs to the current public safety building; it also includes the cost of the Princeton Center remaining vacant and unused. Voters should be making a conscious decision about that, he said.
