Prince's Backing Band Sets Concert Date in Cedar Rapids

Prince's former backing band, the
New Power Generationwill perform at Club 5 at the
Alliant Energy Powerhouse,
Saturday, Oct.2, 2021.
This is kind of a big deal since the performers have had to rescheduled twice as a result of the pandemic. It's the group's first-ever full US tour since reuniting in late 2014.
New Power Generation
The fall tour features Prince's former music director and NPG keyboard player, Morris Hayes as well as former NPG rapper and dancer Tony Mosley, bassist Sonny T, guitarist Mike Scott and the groups lead vocalist, MacKenzie. Les Cleveland, a protege of former NPG drummer, John Blackwell will play drums.
