Oyun-Erdene took part in a meeting of the Heads of Government Council of the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization, organized in an online format by Kazakhtsan.The meeting was attended by Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar,
Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang, Chairman of the Cabinet of
Ministers and Head of the President’s Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek
Zhaparov, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir
Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of
Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene
Luvsannamsrai, and First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber, Deputy Chairman
of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on implementation of the SCO Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Program,
and prospects and measures to deepen trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian
cooperation between the SCO member states. Moreover, they reviewed 2020-2021 activities of the SCO Business Council and the Interbank Consortium and
discussed the SCO budget for 2022.L. Oyun-Erdene, Prime Minister of Mongolia, which has SCO
observer status, delivered remarks. In his remarks, the PM expressed Mongolia's
readiness to actively cooperate with the regional countries to build a large
energy complex based on its rich solar and wind resources in the Gobi, and to
host relevant meetings and events in the country. Moreover, he stated that the
country is willing to collaborate with SCO member and observer countries to forward
strategic development projects with high economic efficiency, outlined in the
Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program, and implement agricultural and
regional tourism development projects relied on the projects abovementioned.In the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided that China
would chair the 2022 meeting of SCO Council of Heads of Government.
