Barbados’ manager Wendell Coppin confirmed that the reconstituted Barbados Pride squad tested negative for the COVID-19 virus a second time and travelled safely to Antigua for the West Indies Super50 Cup, which starts on Sunday.
The Pride players and support staff left Barbados last Sunday for St John’s after undergoing their second test for the virus this past Thursday at the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic and received results in time for travel.
The virus tests are part of the protocols for all five teams travelling into Antigua for the Super50 Cup and came into sharp focus, after the Hope brothers, Kyle and Shai, returned positive results from tests taken by the original squad two Saturdays ago. (AR)
