The state’s independent pricing tribunal has criticised the funeral industry, saying families are not being given enough information and prices vary widely with some providers charging up to three times more than competitors for a cremation.
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal found fewer than half of NSW funeral providers had all the price information they were legally required to provide on their websites.
