Hello and welcome everybody, its 9 30 am here in the iranian capital tehrany, watching press tvs world news. Our top story for this half hours rewarplanes have targeted yet another residential building in northern gaza as the regimes death. Onslot on the besieged palestinian territory enters its sixth day. At least 15 people were killed and Dozens Injured as uh the strike in the strike rather on the building uh in the city of jabaliah. Meanwhile emergency workers in gaza pulled the bodies of 18 people from the rubble of two shattered houses. And khanius in southern gaza, the Palestinian HealthMinistry Says a death toll has risen to 1200 with 5600 wounded since israel began pounding gas on saturday, according to the un, some 340,00 gasents have been displaced, brazil, which currently holds a rotating presidency of the Un Security Council called a meeting of the body on friday to discuss the ongoing Israeli Palestinian conflict. Israeli forces have fately shot and another palestinian teenager during an overnight raid near the occupied west bank city of al khadib. According to palestinian media 16yearold timonos rebizadet died of critical wounds, he sustained in the chest by Israeli Forces life fire. The new fatality brings a number of palestinians killed by the regimes forces in the west bank since saturday to 29, around 50 others have also been injured. Hamas Resistance Movement has called on palestinians in the west bank to join its operation against the regime. And sirens sound all over northern parts of the Israeli Occupied territories as resistance groups continue launching rockets at israeli cities. In the latest series of retaliatory rocket launches hamas Resistance Movement uh shelled hyfa with 160 rockets earlier, the resistance groups had fired rockets at asqalan and sadar. Meanwhile, people are sharing a video on social media showing British Foreign secretary James Cleverly taking shelter as a of siren goes off in the northern parts of the occupied territories. People have also hailed resistance response to the israeli onslot on gaza. According to a israeli media, the operation has left 1300 israelis including 220 military personnel dead and 3300 others injured. Well were now joined by our corresponent and mariam salh whos with us from uh the lebanese capital beirout mariam welcome to the program. Please bring us up to speed on uh the recent response uh by uh the Resistance Forces that weve seen as sirens are going off all over northern parts of uh the Israeli Occupied territories. Yes well those specifically those sirens reached actually from uh. Uh from gaza as we know uh into those Northern Areas uh however it seems that of course the battle is one and there is of course always this link that as long as the situation in palestine that as long as the israelis continue with their aggressions inside palestine then therefore lebanon will not be it ease of course there will always be this state of um you know in instability. So this is what were looking at right now, however, it seems to be somewhat contain still in South Lebanon, despite the fact that we are seeing rockets being fired from. South lebanon into israeli settlements, we did have also several operations for hazbullahs resistance, um, the first Main Operation was to show solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance, and it was conducted in lebanese, occupied territory, that later on of course the israelis um shelled South Lebanon in several areas and we do know that several civilian houses were hit um luckily the the people had some people had evacuated, some people were not in their homes or it hit the part of their home that they were not in, so therefore up until now we do not have civilian casualties, however what we did have were three murders um from hazballah fighters and that has what led to several other operations by hazballahs resistance uh and despite the fact that hazbullah did have three murders we did um is still the response of hazbullah is very precise, its very calm, its uh basically just you know looking at the the the targets that they can really hit precisely, like for example yesterday they air footage of um targeting gathering of of troops of Israeli Soldiers and clearly that rocket hit its target and still the israelis have not been open. About those casualties, and at the same time, the israelis are really hysterical when it comes to um, always being apprehensive, always in fear, paranoid, actually uh on what hazballah might do, so yesterday we had many conflicting reports, many reports that turned out to be only false news and hazballah did not of course claim anything, for example, they said there were uh over 10 drones flying over the Northern Area in in occupied paleus. Then also there were talks of infiltration, there was one infiltration from the fighters of Islamic Jihad and of course that was considered very successful operation, although the two fighters uh were murder, they were killed, still this this whole operation led to the death of five Israeli Soldiers, including a high ranking officer, we also had uh rockets being fired from hamas from lebanon into the Israeli Military bases so. Therefore this is saying that when it comes to the palestinians, their battle is one, wherever they are, and i think that on friday specifically, we have heard calls for mobilization on that day, we will hear and see more movements from palestinian um resistance fighters, whether in gaza or in the west bank or perhaps even in the lands of 1948 that were occupied in in 1948 uh and we might see lot of mobilization there, perhaps protests, the israelis are definitely going to uh crack down on those protestors on the people on the resistance and so on, but still they are going for that, of course there are other issues that are playing out, the political issues, the fact that the us is sending draal for trying to show some deterns, this is all basically playing out right now, well see of course how this develops depending on the movements of the israels and their practices, lets bring in political analyst sul mahmoud whos joining us from lahore, mr. Mahmoud, welcome to the program, give us your perspective on the continued israeli onslot on the besieged gaza strip, and in addition to that, the response that weve been seeing from international bodies, and from uh from people around the world as well, well the siege of gaza is not new, i mean that has been going on for about. 17 years now since hamas to par, what is new is the intensity of its a total blockade now and the netanh government far right, very powerful Prime Minister who has been the longest serving Prime Minister in israels history has the support of the western parts, especially the usa, which matters lot and the usa is. To his assistance as expected, i mean they are now involved in providing intelligence and support in planning which is which which encourages the Israeli Government to take you know strong action, what is going to happen is it just matter of time that the israels you know have very for. Formable military machine and the hamas by the way is not a country, its not even a full flash government is just a Militia Group tag Militia Group with the. 2000 you know soldiers or whatever you call them, freedom fighters, but the important thing is that the hizbullah is embedded in in in gaza, it is more of a political movement, is more of a Resistance Movement than malaysia, and they have support in gaza, they have one elections in gaza, i mean they were, there was a contest between. In the old plo, Mahmoud Abbas which have power in the west bank and and you know in gaza, i mean they finally the one over the people of gaza, the gazan support them, so its not just you know matter of wiping out hamas, hamas cannot be wiped out because of the situation, i mean gaza is just 25 miles and 2. 3 Million People are concentrated. In an open air prison, i mean they are blocked from all sides, electricity has been cut off, fuel has been cut off, you know, no assistance is coming in, and the tragedy is that egyptians are also not allowing much assistance to come in from their side, rafa border has been closed, i mean they are not the egyptians are not also making you know lot of attempts. To bring in assistance from the egyptian side, that is the only only possible crossing, but the israelis are bombarding the rafa cross crossing also, so the situation is very desperate, very desperate and you know the media is concerned, but the media is divided i mean the western media, especially the american most of the American Media and you know unfortunately has taken the side of israel which was expected, israel and america are very very close and the Biden Administration supporting government was a given, i mean there is no surprise there, though so in in america and the west, you know, most of the media is showing the atrocities, so called atrocities committed by hamas, i mean so called you know, i mean the killings that have gone have happened inside israel. But they they are not covering and they are not you know pressurizing their own government to lift the siege on on on gaza my fear is that given the situation given the you know very clear intention of the natanyo government i am very clear that he is going to change the entire middle east and is going to crush hamas forever and the unity government that has been created. Remember natanyo was involved in in a you know in a tusle of power because he wanted to change the judiciary the reform the judiciary and he has lot of opposition inside inside israel which has evaporated which was expected there is a unity government and natanyahu government has very extreme right wingness religious zoinaness you which are calling for elimination of the garsens, crushing of gasen, they are using very strong language, my fear is that the land incursion that is going to happen is just matter of time and this is going to be very bloody this time, very bloody this time, right . Because what happened was that the israelis were caught by surprise, it was really the 911 moment in the sense that they did not expect the hamas to. To you know start a war on on saturday, they were caught by surprise, their complicency, their arrogance, their heubres, their you know their emphasis on technology, their emphasis on their mosat, the penetration of of hamas, i mean whatever, i mean the their own weaknesses, they were caught by surprises, surprise, now they have giared up their act and they are going to use lot of force. In in gaza. Okay, what has happened is that United NationsSecurity Council you know did not, i mean as expected, didnt have much to say about it, about the event, but the United NationSecurity Council, i mean that is sort of paralyzed, we know that, but Antonio Gross has the secretary general, he has come up very strongly, so has the european commission. By the way, you know, they have come with the statement that International Law should be, you know, respected, remember in International Law, you cannot have total. Sie of very large population, this is the this is one of the worlds high most intensely populated you know in the world, 2. 3 million in in you know 25 miles north and south with a few miles of width, 25 miles of length, mean you have, you have more than 2. 3 Million People, 3000 have already displaced, mean where do they go, the only way. Is the mediterranean sea, now what do the israelies expect . Where can the gardens go now . So there have been voices, you know, raised in in western capital, same voices, but they are minority. Most of the western capitals are supporting the uk, france, germany, you know, italy, and that was expected, they are supporting israel, and as expected the. Muslim world is now supporting the hamas and the gardens that which was expected, i mean there have been demonstrations in a number of muslim countries in pakistan, in indonesia, in yamen, in in turkey, few that was expected, in morocco and other places and there have been demonstrations in london, in milan, in ottava, even in new york, the demonstration in new york, in chicago, you know they were not expected, this is something new, the muslims are for the first time, i mean getting organized in the usa, to their credit, you know, they are voicing their support to the gazons, which is a minority, there is an urgency, the urgency is to bring in humanitarian aid to gaza immediately, right, because there is a crisis situation, if immediate humanitarian. Is not brought, especially medical assistance, the hospitals, im gonna jump in there, im gonna ask you to stay with us, we do have breaking news, mr. Mahmoud, allow me to uh announce the breaking news, we have hamas said that is fired, rockets at tel aviv, following israeli attacks on civilians in the besieged gaza strip, weve been seeing uh the retaliatory attacks taking place by the gaza based resistance uh deep into uh into israel uh. If youre still with us, mariam is our correspondent in the lebanese capital, beirout. Miam, were seeing the uh, the retaliatory rocket attacks uh, hitting uh cities inside israel, and coupling that with what took place on saturday, the alaxsa flood operation, uh, do you think that theres been a serious flaw expos now in the Israeli Intelligence and security and military apparatus . Yeah. Definitely, this is what all the experts are talking about, um, this is something that has always already been polluted to uh by many, including hazballah secretary general, back in 2000 when hazbullahs resistance continued, of course with its resistance and its war of retrition against the Israeli Occupation in lebanon, there was a withdrawal, and made very historic speech then and said that the this israeli enemy is weak is weaker than spiders webs, many people. Did not understand that, what does that mean . Why is it weaker than a spiders web . Of course that is assumilly, but at the same time it shows that what we are, we used to see from this israeli, the socalled invincible army, the ones, maybe perhaps invincipal army, that was only the might of their machine, their military machine, their support from the us, their fighter jets, their tanks, their warships, but at the same time there seems to be lack of so many other issues. Especially lately and recently uh we saw that they have lot of weakness when it comes to security issues, even when it comes to their espionage against lebanon, the Lebanese Army was dismantling a daily basis, several cells that were here to spy leban on lebanon, spy on the resistance and several Espionage Networks in lebanon, so therefore they were getting weaker and weaker when it came to intelligence, and so therefore we also. Saw this um in in how the hamas was able in only hours time uh to take over several settlements that is coupled by the fact that you have the soldiers and the officers and the generals and the populaus as a whole, the people uh have lost trust, they have lost confidence, they have lost morale, and we heard this in hazbil statement just yesterday, saying that the us is sending uh the naval carrier, ford in order to boost the morale of this weak uh enemy, this weak, even now its in its machines to try to give it support, and the fact that we have many of the soldiers. That are leaving, many of the officers are uh traveling outside, running away from any sort of reservist um duty they might have in the israeli army, we saw this first hand here in lebanon, we saw how the morale of the soldiers is very low, but and at the same time um facing that you have fighters whether in hamas, islam and jihad or hezbollah, you have fighters who are ready for for marturdom, they have a different ideology uh they believe in for example the heavens, they this is for them that they believe is marteridom is very significant, one of the highest levels of becoming closer to god almighty and so on, so those are believers that are ready to sacrifice their lives, ready to liberate their land, and there isnt also the issue of injustice, so um, therefore they believe that they have the right, that makes them even more ready for sacrifice and more courageous, perhaps, so that in itself shows the. Weakness shows the fact that they are not ready uh as soldiers for concerning the israelis and there is of course lot of weakness when it comes to the security. For example we had lot of mishaps by the israeli army in the 2006 war and they did several uh committees especially the vinegrad committee that itself they launched a lot of investigations. It didnt seem that they learned their lesson from the 2006 war. There were several other wars against gaza that were faith. Especially any attempts of the ground ground war, they didnt learn from that as well, so basically what they were relying on were just the technical fences, the the law the high walls, but those in themselves were not enough to be basically heed to the extent of the capabilities that hamas had in order to be able to infiltrate all of these very highly sophisticated means that they were using to try to make it secure, so now the israelis are looking at things in a way where they are stund, and this is why we were saying that even in South Lebanon, the israelis are acting, if you hear from their reports, lot of conflicting reports a lot of proplection and concern, um, there is not just hysteria, theres also paranoia, so theyre basically always worried about anything that might come over, trying to get that support uh from the us, netan ya, i said on and on, were starting the war, were starting the war, but theyre only launching aggressions, theyre only shelling from the air, innocent women and children, we have not seen anything on the ground by this israeli army, and even weve heard recently from his secretary general, he said that we will see lot of them packing their bags and leaving, and that would make it even weaker and weaker, and then therefore there would not be much for hamas left to do, but just to enter and really liberate palestine, despite of course the fact that the israelis are still. Capable of committing massacres and killing hundreds and over a thousand as we saw of innocent women and children. Live images uh from the ghaza skyline, we can see uh thick plums of smoke billowing uh to the sky, uh, the uh latest developments they were getting by uh by the minute here, armed wing of palestinian izamic jihad in the west bank, Saray Al Quds has now joined hamas in operation. Flood, we see the Palestinian Resistance being um more unified than ever in the face of the israeli threats, uh, death and destruction and occupation right now. Swan mahmoud in lahor, two issues i want you to address for us, one being the uh, the unity that weve been seeing from various Palestinian Resistance factions, specifically since uh the uh ultra rightwing cabinet in israell assumed off. Late last year, we saw an uptick and increase of israeli violence against palestinians, both in the occupied west bank and the gaza strip, many have stated that that has even brought the uh Palestinian Resistance even more united than ever before, talked us about that issue, also if you may talk to us about how the Mainstream Media has handled what is taking place right now uh in gaza as during these situations the israelis uh always maintain the role of of the victim. Well, what is going to happen is that the war is going escalate even more on on South Lebanon and north israel, that border is going to open up, okay, the hizbullah will get involved and not only the hizbullah, al jihad, you know, hamas, i mean those fighter groups in South Lebanon, they are going to get involved, this is just matter of time. What happened was that they were caught by a surprise, i believe that even the iranian were caught by surprise, because because hammas had to keep this. You know war very secret because of his mosad penetration in in their ranks, so i mean i believe that the hizbullah did not know, the iranians did not know, i mean the west bank, Mahmoud Abbas government of course did not know, the egyptians did not know, i mean the egyptians had some feeling that something is going to happen, but they were not very sure, i mean they had won attanyahu, but i mean it was a surprise, it was a surprise to the world. And to the credit of hamas, they kept it as a surprise, they were preparing it for it, obviously they were preparing for it for some time, i mean they had to keep it a surprise even from the allies, what is going to happen is that the the the the escalation is going to happen, another front is going to have, i mean is going to open up in if not already done so in south laban is that is also matter of time, the reason is that the. India is covering the siege of gaza as never before, is the western media is not showing but you know to the credit of the muslim media, i mean aljazera is al jazeras, you know, has done an excellent job, is doing an excellent job of covering the palestinian side of the story, and the muslim media, media in pakistan, in iran, in turkey, indonesia, in the gulf, i mean they are. Going the other side also, so things have changed and it is the social media, you see lot of you know lot of news, lot of tapes you know on twitter, on facebook, in this has never happened before, so the world media is networked as never before, mean you know things have changed, the social media is covering the story, even if cnn and the bbc, i mean and fox news, they are giving the israeli version, but nbc, abc, they are all giving the israeli version, but there is a counter media, i mean people are showing videos on their own, theyre uploading videos on their own on the social media and millions and millions of you know media circulating on the world and the muslim media is you know. Covering, so the world has changed, i believe that the see, the blockade which is going to be terrible, which is going to be very costly to the garsen, which is going to be very bloody, the sige is going to be very bloody, you know, that will be broadcast live as never before in the history of the world, that is because of technology, that is because of of the global media, you know, okay that is one thing, but what has happened is a failure of the islamic leadership, mean i must point out, they have not gotten that act together, the arab league, you know is touchless organization, the secretary general has made few comments you know on the support of hamas, thats about it, the organization of islamic conference, Foreign Ministers emergency meeting has been called by saudi arabia, they will. Issue their declaration in support of hamas and the liberation of palestine, but thats about it. I mean, there is a failure the islamic leadership to take immediate action to bring in a assistance to gaza. Ardogan has talked about it and you know he has promised that he is going to come to the assistance. The u uae government has promised assistance but not to the gazan directly. But indirectly to the United NationsRefugee Agency you now because they dont have an emergency you know Assistance Program of their own, i mean this is very strange and this is to the discredit of the islamic leadership that they do not have mechanism through which they can come to the assistance of gaza even if they want to, i mean there is no you know. No agency as such that can work through egypt or work through cyprus or work through turkey or wherever you know so for that is tragically you know one another side of this conflict, the muslim world is divided between the people and its government okay, the governments are they are supporting saudi arabia is supporting iran
