The un itself reflective of these changes or even relevant anymore as a forum for addressing issues like war, poverty, islamophobia and multipolarity. Heres a brief look at the key events from this years summit in new york. The General Assembly is the main policymaking organ of the un where Member States engage in a multilateral discussion a spectrum of international issues. In its 78th session, Muslim Leaders use their platforms to discuss major. Proudly proclaiming their faith. Iranian president rais spoke at length against the eraasure of family values and the rampant islamophobia spreading across europe displayed clearly in the designration of the holy quran. These understandings that bring unity and divine teachings that inspire that build. In the fires of disrespect will not will not overcome the truth and the divine truth. Jordan, saudi arabia and turkey stress that Palestinian Statehood is necessary element of any potential for peace in west asia while simultaneously making plans and shaking hands with israel. The signs of xenophobia, racism and islamophobia. Turning into a new crisis have reached alarming levels in the last one year. 2023 has been the deadliest for the Palestinian People in the past 15 years. How can people trust in global justice while settlement building, land confiscations and home demolitions continue . Where is the Global Solidarity to make un resolutions believable . Elsewhere, representatives of several muslim majority african nations warned against any western plans to attack niger following the expulsion of a frenchbacked regime there. Any military intervention in nigeria, any aggression or any invasion of that country would pose a direct threat to the peace and security of mali and of the region, and it would necessarily entail grave consequences, we will not stand idle. This year. Theme was to be rebuilding trust and reigniting Global Solidarity, but with open discrimination and acts of aggression perpetrated against muslims, is rebuilding trust between nations, genuine possibility. Now joining us today in the studio to talk about all these issues is a regular contributor to the show batool sabaiti. Sister batul is a political activist and commentator whose incisive analysis helps both layman and professionals a like navigate Political Developments on. Global scale and joining us on skype from tehran is ali salam, hes a convert to islam and editor in chief of basira press with focus on west Asian Affairs and reporting on global capitalism and the great reset. Thank you both for joining us todays show. Now let me begin here in the studio uh with yourself sister bato youve been following the events of course of the un General Assembly and also the fallout from that uh summit. What did you of make of this years event . To be honest with you. I dont think is any different to any of the Previous Years, you can almost script what the pms and the president s are going to say, ultimately the unga is an expression, of more so than it is real action, you can think of it as almost like. A pr networking event, um, nothing is really in the hands of the leaders who are invited to speak, unless of course you are a part of the Un Security Council and you have the veto power, thats where real action takes place, and of course the majority of those in those permanent positions are the western block, so you have the us, the uk, france, um, and you have to see this obviously within the context of the formation of the un, it was formed post world war 2 by the victors of the war, um, of course in the soviet union was ally back then um of america and uk, but ultimately the function of the un was for those emerging superpowers to have monopolization over the world, and it was never meant to be a platform to ensure equality, to ensure proportional representation, and even if you see for example the leader of the un, you see that the kind of uh stance that he takes or she takes is really that mimicking the american strategy, even when it comes to for example a large power like russia that actually has a position in the Security Council and has the veto power, they still mimic that. American strategy for example when it comes to the uh war on russia via ukraine and so thats the reality nor does the un actually represent those rising powers like iran that actually have real programs for change so it certainly doesnt represent that access um but what i would say is whats its important that we do talk about institutions like the un that exist, those are increasingly becoming outdated. Its very important that we look at the transformations that are happening on the global sphere and we recognize that actually were having alternative parallel systems that are formed. Whether thats you know bricks and the interconnection of the Banking Systems, whether thats the Shanghai Corporation council, whether thats the International North south transportation corridor, and understand that actually these are alternative systems that are balancing the g7, eu, nato, yes of course in real terms they dont have the same level of strength as of yet, but its the trajectory that were going in. The uh western fist is increasingly disintegrating and the global south nations are rising and theyre a lot more specific when it comes to their policies, unlike the un thats a lot more general. And i actually really want to pick up a few of those points uh especially to do with uh you know the new organizations that are growing, but i do want to just pass over to tehran and to uh brother ali salam. Thank you so much for joining us from tehran. Now one of the most Iconic Images we saw and we saw it in the video just earlier was of president ibrahim raisie of iran holding up the quran to you know to defend its honor and as he said there to say that uh all the incidents of its desecration would never take away from the value of the quran, what did you make of the president s speech and do you think the rest of the islamic world is really doing enough enough both to protect the quran and to push back against all of the type of islamophobic provocations that weve seen . Um, i thought it was actually the most powerful thing of the whole entire un General Assembly, because other islamic leader would do such a thing. And as you said, um, its, its about who is really, are they really doing enough to combat the islamophobia thats going on, some muslim countries, alhamdulillah, they did various boycots of sweden, but i think the most powerful demand was from the leader of the islamic revolution, who stated that these people should actually be brought to justice, the specific individuals, not any kind of collective. The swedish people, but the specific individuals and officials who are responsible for this painous crime, because the quran is really the cure for all of the material and spiritual problems that exist in the world today, because so many isms have come and have offered their socalled solutions for humanity, whether it be capitalism or marxism or all these different. Kinds of isms, but and they only address the material issues, but the quran really addresses both those dimensions, so i think its very important that we understand that quran is like the cure, for peoples hearts and to censor that cure, i heard a islamic scholar referred to it as being equivalent to censoring cure for cancer, and the first thing that came to my mind when he said that was that they actually do that, they they this satanic system of these arrogant powers, they sent are both the physical cures for cancer with the pharmaceutical mafia and then those same uh rich wealthy families that control much of the resources of the world, they use their media power and their cultural power to then censor the spiritual cure for the spiritual ills of mankind, so to stand up for the holy quran when other world leader would do so is a true mark of the adherence the Islamic Republic of iran to the noble values of islam. Thank you so much brother ali, sister batul, i do want to come back to you uh, and also again another really interesting scene we saw at the un General Assembly was the failed attempt by the israeli delegation to disrupt disrupt. President raisis uh speech as brother ali so eloquently uh analyzed just there now that ended up with the israeli ambassador being unceremoniously kicked out of the uh of the hall and uh removed by security and thats in addition to netanyahu giving his speech to an almost empty uh hall at the assembly do you think that that represents the worlds feeling on israel that theyre becoming more isolated absolutely it goes back to the roots the creation of the designist entity the zinist entity was created to play that functional role to secure western interests in the region. To actually protect western interests, but right now were in a situation in the world where the wrong state is increasingly becoming a liability to the west, specifically to america, of course, because even americas priorities and its strategies have shifted, right now we are increasingly seeing the withdraw of america from west asia, of course as its priorities shift elsewhere to secure its unipolar hegemmany and its fight um against russia, so actually um the west specifically america is more interested in the region kind of being used to fight china and being used to fight russia. Thats why today when we look at the normalization of ties between the arab states, specifically saudi arabia that is increasingly on the cusp of norm of normalization. We dont see this as victory for the zinist entity. We dont see this as a sign of strength, because actually this would have never happened if it wasnt for america. America wants this to happen. Why . Its within the increasing strategy of creating a balance within the region. As america is withdrawing, it wants there to be kind of a more united. In camp that can that can secure its interests of course in the face of the Islamic Republic of iran and its camp, so really in this state of affairs, um, saudi arabia is an entity that doesnt really have the power to say no, it doesnt have the power to do anything but to follow through on the american orders, the same exists for the other gulf states, for example like um the uae and the likes of morocco and sudan that normalized those relations, it cannot be and it should not be seen as a sign of strength because they were never. Enemies with the wrong state to begin with, its just matter of relations going from being under the table to being over the table to secure the american interests within that frame of reference that theyre leaving the region, so even its important that we dont look at america as this kind of victor in the situation or as having the upper hand, actually on the wild stage were seeing the disintegration of the american fist, so of course its going to forgo the zionist entity that it created to protect it when its a sinking ship. Thank you, now we spoke to islamic scholar jafar ladak about the. Un General Assembly and in particular we wanted to ask him about what muslims should be doing to stand against the type of islamophobic provocations weve been seeing across the world in recent months. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. We are experienced actually increase in provocation especially around the the burning of the quran which is actually being seen at an International Level sadly and we realize that the propagation is probably divided in to two, theres those people who are provoking the Muslim Community out of ignorance, and then there are those people who are provoking the Muslim Community out of hatred and spite, both of these two have to be dealt with in a slightly nuanced to fashion. Those are with ignorance, the quran mentions that we have to be able to treat them with softer approach whereby we understand that they have. Have been manipulated by the forces around them. Mentions that we have to call people with a particular stance of, so we need to call them in the most befitting, wise of ways. We also, according to the quran, need to try to turn people who are ignorent into sort of turn them away from their enity. In towards being closer in proximity and devoted friends. On the other side, there are those people who are doing this out of spite, and theyre doing this with knowledge, full knowledge of what theyre trying to achieve with this spite and with this enmity. The quran takes a much tougher stance with such individuals, so when provocation used to occur with the prophet muhammad, for example, you will even see that de god says you have a certain amount of time to repent and turn with your ways, otherwise we will respond. Similarly, his eminence, may allah bless him and preserve him for us, in one of his statements in the recent weeks and months, stated that the practitioner. The burners of the quran in sweden, they should be arrested and turned over to the international community, particularly to the muslim nations, for such people to be held responsible for their provocations. Great words of advice from the sheikh there, now brother ali, i wanted to come back to you, the recent months weve been seeing the expansion of bricks, iran restoring ties with some of its arab neighbors, saudi, the uae and others uh doing trade and other countries doing trade in currencies other than the dollar with each other and so on. Now is the un really reflective of these rapidly changing events, is it even relevant anymore and or does it need massive reform to give more influence to the rising power . The global south, as our respected sister had stated that the un is mechanism is designed to protect a Certain Group of powerful countries that existed a certain time in history following the second world war, and the world has rapidly changed since then, but in my humble opinion, i believe that the un was set up to intentionally be biased. Towards a handful of powers, namely the united states, uh, the european superpowers and as well as the uh emerging zionist loby that had not yet formed the illegitimate state of israel at the time, and so its its essentially a front to be source of false hope for the nations of the world to settle their disputes, it puts face of being neutral, it puts a face of being a sort of International Body for settlements of disputes between. Uh different nations, but as has been mentioned, there is no proportional representation, the Security Council uh only represents a handful of powers and the majority of those are on one kind of alliance of of certain certain nations that have a particular agenda, so it really is arrelevant organization, and um, while bricks and seo are promising and offering an alternative, theyre mostly economic alliances, they dont have any kind of ideological alliances and theres no also Um International system for settlement of legal issues, issues of justice, issues of prosecuting criminals like for example the desecration of the holy quran, or the assassination of marter kasim sulaimani, and i think since were here talking about were a islamic show and perhaps so many of our audience are muslims uh the uns framework is entirely secular and liberal. And that framework is not what is best for the wellbeing of humankind, because human beings have both material reality and a spiritual reality, and there needs to be a system of place that addresses both of those. So uh, in my humble opinion, i believe that the world is moving towards global government, that is, that is the inevitability, its just which type of global government, kind of satanic global government, they may perhaps represent the kind of false messiah, that muslims and christians believe at the end times, but then theres also a global government that will be led by the divine representatives that god has placed on earth, namely imam mahdi, may allah hasen his reappearance and jesus christ, whom both muslims and christians are waiting for, and they will lead a divine global government that does not oppress people, that does not usurp people, that does not cause all kinds of problems and chaos and misery in the lands, so we we essentially have two competing uh global governments that are that we can really see. Playing out right now in these various uh um alliances uh between different countries, countries that represent a very satanic agenda that are covered in the bloods of millions of innocent people around the world and countries that are seeking to uh liberate humanity from such wicked and evil powers. Thank you brother uh ali and uh some really interesting points raised there uh in particular uh the kind of as the binary nature of you have the western uh or prowestern or more western leaning institutions, for example, youve got the United Nations General Assembly, and then brother ali there was talking about you, you have to set up alternatives to that, what kind of vision do you want from the world . Would the solution be, for example giving countries like iran, south africa, india, more power on the Security Council, or should those nations be pushing on with their own institutions, in particular, for example uh alternatives to the Swift Financial system so that countries can freely trade with each other without having. To worry about you know sanctions and other oppressive measures . Absolutely. The trajectory that were seeing is as was has been mentioned that the un is increasingly becoming redundant, outdated and those countries are taking the matters into their own hands. So for example youre seeing the interconnection of Banking Systems um between china and russia, for example, 70 of their trade currencies um are in the rubles or within the un, which is the chinese currency. For instance. Um, youre seeing also, the same thing happen with with iran and russia, for example, the interconnection their Banking Systems, i believe over 50 banks in the Previous Year have connected alone, um, so the real is these nations dont wait, they take the initiative, what binds them and what unites them is the american hegemmany on these nations, they see their struggle as one struggle, and and that thats the interesting reality is that america is shooting and has been shooting itself in the foot for the past three decades, you can argue that its actually the american empire is probably the most shortlived empire, when you think of empires that that ruled the world and had that kind of unipolar fist, um, them were for hundreds of years, but with america were seeing it for 30 years, because the reality of its oppression is unsustainable. Um, these nations, they have programs for change that they want to bring forward, and uh, they have demonstrated that, as as brother ali rightly mentioned, the Islamic Republic for iran, of iran, for example, is an entity that has an ideological change program, what really threatens um america and has threatened america since the start of the revolution, was this ideology itself, what threatens it with respect to russia and china is just. Matter of status, like they dont want them to overtake them um in the sphere of like the numbers, for example, whether thats the army, whether thats economically, but with the islam republic of iran, its bringing forward an ideology thats fighting the central ideology of capitalism, where money is the god, and right now were seeing the attack is so much more greater on just islam, what were seeing on the world stage is attack on all moralities, its an attack on on everything thats objective and all objective frameworks is to create a world that is fluid, subjective, where anyone can be anything. Can identify with anything also spoke about the attack on the Family Institution for example, the whole aim is to create a world where they can reshape and they can reconfigure it in whatever way shape they see fit and thats why the ec stress to the un, please have a program where you protect the Family Institution, the attack on the family, um, the attack on sanctities for example, because all of that the un yielding to that or or not giving into those demands is really serving the american project and we know its just an outlet to serve the american empire. Sure, thank you. Sister bato brother ali, weve only got about a minute or so left, so i do want to ask you the final question, now youve stressed as how sister betul on lets say the values uh that weve seen at play around the world, and its not you know just perhaps even between uh islam and uh socalled western values, because actually even though uh muslims and islam is now being seen as a alternative to that system, we are seeing many people in you, traditional societies in the west who have had enough of this agenda, so very. Quickly um what should muslim institutions be doing, muslim nations be doing to show that actually we have all the quran has the solutions for these uh you know values and these global ills that were seeing . The main thing that they should do is live by the quran in practice, we saw so many of these Muslim Leaders, they say bismillahirrahmanirrahim, they talk about palestine, but then they go and shake hands with netanyahu, or they want to sell palestine out in the name of Palestinian Statehood through the socalled two states which still recognizes the illegitimate z occupation and gives them a part of the land that they stole, so we need we need Muslim Leaders who are not hypocrites like the Islamic Republic of iran to lead the way and the main thing that they should do to resist the satanic temptations that are seeking to create an entire system, an entire life cell, which i mean they already exist, theyve already built, but they want to globalize it and make it sure that theres no. Square inch of l or square meter of land on earth that exists without such a system and the main vehicle for that is the un 2030 agenda which uh through its socalled Sustainable Development goals seeks to spread lgbt in the school curriculum. Thank you brother ali uh for your time today and to sister batul sabeti here in the studio. Thats all we have time for this week. Thank you for watching and you can join us again next week for another edition of i on islam. راه آهن, the Railway Project connecting the border city of shalamcha in iran and the city of in iraq will play a very important.
