For nearly an hour, the hospital was under fire as 211 shells rain down on the building. Among the 42 victims were patients, caretakers and msf staff members, who were providing Life Saving Services to the wounded and patients. The brittle attack on kundus hospital not only devastated our people at that time, but it still haunts our nation, because it was attack on innocent people, attack that burned our medical professionals. Most of the targeted patients were the victims of the. Us war, our nation will never forget this war crime. Hospital was mistakenly struck. The us initially denied targeting the hospital, but later admitted that it was a grave and tragic mistake, independently and impartially. The msf denounced the attack as violation of International Humanitarian law on the war crime and demanded an independent investigation. However, no investigation or trial اگر ما یک حکومت قوي داشته باشیم که if an afghan legitimate government takes the case of the us attack to an international court, it will bring dignity and justice to the Afghan Nation and the families of the victims who are still waiting for such move. An impartial investigation and trial is the right of the victims of this horrific attack. Unfortunately, the previous government was controlled by the us and the current one. Is not recognized, so the perpederators of the kundus hospital attack have never been punished. The attack on the msf hospital was not an isolated incident. During its 20year occupation of afghanistan, the us carried out more than 13,000 air strikes across the country. The u. S. During campaign alone claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people, many of them women and children. Afghan people have endered numerous atrocities committed by the us forces on their land. Us House Speaker Kevin Mccarthy has been austed in a historic vote triggered by group of his fellow republicans. The group led by congressman matt gates of florida has been highly critical of mckarthys leadership ever since he was elected house speeker in january. His anser has now plunged congress into further chaos. Just days after it deverted a government shut down. A historic votes in the u. S. House of representatives, the Lower Chamber of congress voted to remove Kevin Mccarty is speaker following motion pushed by his fellow republicans. On this vote, the yes are 216, the news are 2 10. The resolution is adopted. Without objection, the motion to reconsider. Is laid on the table, the office of speaker of the house of the United States house of representatives is hereby declared vacant. A group of hard right republicans lit by congressman matt gods of florida push the motion late monday to vote on removing mccarty. Got and his allies have been credical of mccardi ever since it was chosen House Speaker in january. Things escalated after mccard reached a deal with democrats. Few days ago to avert a government shutdown. Mr. Speaker, my friend from oklahoma says that my colleagues and i who dont support Kevin Mccarthy would plunge the house and the country into. To chaos. Chaos is speaker mccarthy. Chaos is somebody who we cannot trust with their word. The one thing that the white house, house democrats, and many of us on the conservative side of the Republican Caucus would argue is that the thing we have in common, Kevin Mccarthy said something to all of us at one point or another that he didnt really mean and never intended to live up to. And mccardi responded this way in a press conference. You all know matt gates, you know it was personal, it had nothing to do about spending, it had nothing to do about everything he accused somebody of he was doing, it all was about getting attention from you. The housad speaker also criticized what he called the divide inconstitutional problem in congress. In todays world, if youre sitting in congress and you took a gamble to make sure government was still open. And eight people can throw you out a speaker and the democrats who said they wanted to keep government open, i think you got a real divide, i think you got a real institutional problem, said he wont seek to reclaim his post as speaker, the Biden Administration has hoped that the house will find a replacement as soon as possible, mccarty poses problems both for congress and for the government, thats because november 17th is the next deadline to fund the government, or risk a federal shutdown, with the hard right republicans taking a job at the last deal between mccarty and the democrats to keep the government go on, the next House Speaker would need to figure out how to keep the Party Colleagues happy, while at the same time prevent a government shut down. Prince National Health. Service buses have for the first time said that the ongoing strike by doctors in england is causing significant disruption and risk to patients. Weve discussed the issue with our guests in the news review program. Lets take a listen. Were watching presss news review, we look deeper into some of the top stories of the day on this segment of the program. Britains National Health Service Leaders have expressed concerns over the ongoing strike action in england by Junior Doctors and consultants for the first time nhs bosses acknowledged that the 72hour joint walkout is causing significant disruption and risk to patients. They highlighted the challenges in managing patients to require timesensitive urgent treatment saying the strike brings all routine care to near standstill. Hospitals also reported the cancellation of treatments and appointments for the second or third time. The. Industrial action own as Christmas Day cover began on monday over pay. This is the second strike action by doctors and over uh the past two weeks. On tuesday, radiographers also joined them and walked out of jobs for a day, meanwile members of the British Medical Association are taking part in arally and manchester urging fair pay deal. Joining us on this edition of the news review we have um. Prestys very own side putozo is joining us from the british capital london also we have nhs campaigner bob gill whos joining us uh from uh london as well lets start off with uh said in the british capital said nhs bosses have acknowledged this 72 hour joint walkout is causing significant disruption this industrial action which has come to be known as Christmas Day cover it seems to feel a little different this time doesnt it . It certainly does. Bardia and these warnings have been around for a long time since these strikes began 10 months ago and its extraordinary that were still talking about them without a solution to the problem uh anywhere in sight anytime soon and doctors such as um dr. Bob gail have been also warning about uh shortcomings and um other problems with the National Health service for years now um we have seen um up to million cancellations of uh appointments and surgeries as as a result um over the past um 10 months um the waiting list of course has gone up um as well the governments of course has been trying to blame all of this on the strikes uh whereas uh it is Public Knowledge that even before the pandemic the uh waiting list had risen to 7. 2 million and over the past uh few years since uh it has gone up in. 7 million. One of the promises of the Prime Minister rishi sunek has been to um have inflation uh excuse me um nhs waiting lists, that hasnt happened, even as early as this morning, and his uh secretary of health, Steve Barkley in manchester where the Tory Party Annual Conference is ongoing have been blaming the doctors uh for the rise in the number of people having to wait for um surgeries uh examples of people um suffering as a result um are plenty of one person talking to the media here saying that she was suffering from gold bladder stones that she was throwing up left right and center. And that she eventually had to take out a loan to carry out um some kind of surgery or keyhole surgery perhaps on uh to take out her gold bladder stones because she was told by the nhs that they had already canceled so many appointments that hers would probably be one and not get her surgery done anytime soon shed probably have to wait year for that to happen something she didnt want to do and that is the state of the nhs and im sure uh dr. Bob giil can fill. In on that, it is alleged that it is a push, attempt by the conservative government to push the nhs to the brink where it seems to have managed, um, and turn it into this subpor Healthcare System for everybody else, whereas people with money can uh access better healthcare in the private sector. Lets cross over to uh dr. Bob gill, doctor uh gill give us your interpretation on uh the recent uh strikes by medical workers and of course uh your perspective on the effect at this recent 72hour joint strike is at so far . Thank you, yes, so strike action is last resort, the government have refused to come to the negotiating table to to discuss a way out of and a way to avoid the strike action. The problem is we have a political elite which is across the political parties, they are hell bent on privatizing the nhs, and in order to privatize the nhs, you have to dismantle the Public Health provision, and that includes driving down staff wages, creating a work force crisis in terms of retention and recruitment, and also driving up waiting list, so so these three things actually suit the political agenda, that might sound perverse, but the preventable harm and death of patients is the lubricant required to build a burgeoning private sector within the uk, so this is all avoidable, the government is interested in driving up cost either through taxation and additional payment if you go privately and driving down standards, so there is a parallel process in this country of replacing qualified doctors and nurses with assistance, so this is a. Preplanned um strategy of introducing deskilling and task shifting, these are important tactics from the private sector who want to run a Health Service for profit, not high quality, not with a well motivated and satisfied workforce, and driving standards of provision down, so this is whats going on, that is the context within which these strikes are taking part and you now the. Doctors, the joint action, i welcome the joint action, but what i do not receive too kindly is the refusal of the unions to paint the broader picture of the assault on Public Healthcare provision, the strike action and the way suppression is part of this drive to privatize the nhs, which the public need to know and the government and the media arent telling them. All right, thanks lot, thats all the time we have for this segment of the program. Press tv. Joining us from london and thanks to dr. Bob giil joining us also from the british capital. With that it brings us to an end here on this edition of the news review here on press tv, but stick around theres play more to come as well. Bye for now. Germanys military assistance to ukraine undergoing criticism. Protesters demonstrated in a public display of discontents for the arm supplies to kiev. The rallies were held in the cities of berlin and munich. The demonstrators said germanys decision to send more weaponry to ukraine risks escalation of the conflict with russia. Some protesters demanded that germany pull out of the nato military alliance. Some said the us is benefiting from germanys intervention in the. Im mainly concerned with crisis intervention and resolving this Armed Conflict on the one hand, and the other hand, of course, there are trends in the militarization of germany. After all, from purely political point of view, germany is right in the middle, and america is shamelessly taking advantage of that too, using citizens. Through media policy to perhaps ultimately use them for their own goals and ukrainian citizens were also exploited. Germany is among western countries that have provided ukraine with a wide range of weapons since the war erupted in february 2022. Russia has repeatedly said the influx of western arms will only prolong the war and add to the suffering of ukrainians. Moscow has also warned that the west the west that such arms transfers risk triggering. A direct conflict with nato. Berlin based author and political analyst christopher horstell joined us earlier with his take on the recent demonstrations in germany, protesting the countrys armed supplies to ukraine. Theres a consensus among the otherwise multiply divided opposition, that weapons to ukraine are detrimental to peace. In europe that weapons to ukraine in fact fosters war and cannot help to end it, and that logic is very simple and very clear, and it applies to huge part the population, which is in fact a little tired of demonstrating through the last three years, time and again, day and again in so many cities, so october 3rd National German day was a day of rallying again also in this regard. And let me give you the figures, the 8. 36 billion euros german weapons exports to ukraine last year and 8. 76 this year alone, so we have raised sharply and one third of our weapons exports go to ukraine nowadays, and thats a very, very bad development. The chinese city. Ju is hosting the 19th asian games. Iban has sent 289 male and female athletes to compete in 34 sporting events. Our correspondent sam jury joined us earlier from the city with the latest on the competitions there and the medals that iranians have won so far. For one and act ones medals least to the 16 ranking actually of the Overall Standings of countries were participating at the 19th asian games so uh but today as we had told you earlier that as soon as the wrestling begins so we expect more medals to be uh backed by iranians so far as the wrestlers have just began their work since today and local time of china uh to uh we have two finalists at greeko roman wrestling, nossar alizade in 87 kilogram greekoman uh has made way into the final stage very also amin nat in 77 kilogram grico roman again has made way into the final so we expect at least two finalists to uh face their opponents today and definitely uh again the medal hopefully gold medal or at most silver would be backed by one so definitely would be. Change um actually on the medals list and definitely the ranking of iran would uh change in uh for better because you know iran currently stands at 11 of the Overall Standings and the medals list and uh if you want to take a look at the least also i can say that china by having uh backed almost 164 gold medals ranks first is it is folled by japan which is already uh snatched 33 gold. Medals and the third place on the medals list goes to uh south korea which is already backed 32 medals it won by having uh won only uh six gold medals currently stands at the 11th standing on the overall medals list and that does it for this edition of world news thanks for being with us ill be back at the top the hour with a recap of the top stories just byebye for now.
