Hello and welcome everybody, its 2 30 p. M. Here in the iranian capital tehrani one press tvs world news. Our top story for this half hour, the Aerospace Division of irans Islamic Revolution guards core has successfully launched the homeegrown imaging satellite new 3. Satellite was launched uh aboard a carrier dupt assid or messenger and placed into orbit 450 kilometers above the earths surface. The irdc aerospace. Under Brigadier General amir ali says iran will launch two more satellites into space in the coming months tv earlier us with more details of about the latest satelite much this is a great achievement for iran considering the fact that iran is under harsh sanctions so seeing the country thrive in so many fields and hightech fields in particular is actually great news for iranians and and the entire iranian nation is happy today to hear about this. This is something that always comes to mind whenever we witness some great achievement in iran. Considering the fact that iran has been under a us sanction since the beginning of the revolutions 1979, sanctions is nothing new for iranians and then afterward for uh whatever pretext or excuse that the us and its allies have found, theyve always had excuse to place even more sens on iran and now, well the nuclear uh deal and of course the dossier and everything pertaining to that came another excuse, and then well, i dont have to go over the entire story when the us pulled out of the jppo and imposed unilateral sanctions, so basically what im trying to say is for iranians as a of nation, very difficult to have access to anything, anything hightech, these sanctions are so harsh that in many cases they even include medicines. Food, so the fact that you see iran achieving these heights in hightech fields feels Like Aerospace are only a handful of countries who actually have the technology, who actually have conquer space, so uh, and Something Interesting that you have to note that many of these countries have done so with the help of the pioneers, the country like russia and the United States or western countries have helped them with that, but the about iran is that its own achievements, it has achieved this, with the help of its own scientist, that iran is standing its own two feet, and that is what makes this achievement even more important and even more significant, this knowledge, this knowhow is completely domestic, it is home grown. Iran does not lie anyone for the know that it has achieved to acquire. Iran has vowed a resolute. Response to israel after the regimes Prime Minister threatend to use Nuclear Weapons against the Islamic Republic. While wemanently and unequally condemning the israeli regimes perilous threat to use Nuclear Weapons against iran as a flagrant violation of established preemptory norms of International Law, themic republic of iran firmly reaffirms its legitimate and inherent rights in full accordance with International Law and charter of the United Nations to respond resolutely to any threat and unlawful acts originating from the israely regime. Amir said avani made the comments in letter to the un secretary general and the president of the Security Council, he said israels threat to Nuclear Weapons is serious threat to International Peace and security and the International Community not remain indifferent or silent. The iranian env urged the United NationsSecurity Council to announce israels reckless Statement Last week netanyahu said during his speech at the Un General Assembly that iran must quote face a credible nuclear threat. Well iran. Has experienced or rather has been experiencing the western medias hybrid war since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, documentary dubbed decolonization of the mind, airdon press tv has highlighted the antiiran propaganda by the mainstream western media. David miller is a producer of this documentary, hes a former professor at bristol university. He decided to take a trip to iran to personally see things happening on the ground, country, he talk to ordinary people and intellectuals. About various issues, most specifically the role of the west and uh the uk throughout iranian history. Well joining us now uh is the producer of the documentary decolonization of the mind academic broadcaster and investigative researcher david miller whos joining us now from bristol, mr. Miller, welcome to the program, its great to have. Be with us uh, initially, i have two questions for you, first of all, what is uh the uh the motive behind this antiran propaganda by the way uh mainstream western media, and the second question would be, what led you to want to make this documentary . Well, the the motive is that um, iran is a country which does not go along with the dominant us approach to World Affairs and as a result. Has been since its inception of the Islamic Republic as you said under sanctions and seen as a threat and thats of course iran is a threat to western power um and the way in which things developed i mean you just talking on your news about new Technological Developments in of course there are many of these which i saw when i came there but these new development in the role of iran are in the context of a change in the way the world works towards multipolarity. Intervention by the russians in indication of that, the fact that the the west and the americans, and the british couldnt sanction the russians, its an indication that world power is leaching towards the multiolar axis and that means that iran play a much bigger role in the world state, so the reason that they have tried to sanction iran from the beginning, the reason they do it now is because iran that pose a threat to the western order, the inegalitarian and deeply unjust order which the west has imposed on the world. And my other question, what led you to to want to make this documentary . Well, i came to to iran in march and uh, you know, one one lives in the west, sees a constant drumbeat of propaganda against iran, only last week at the Un General Assembly we saw the ambassador the scientisty gillad and trying to interrupt the speech of president risy, and amongst the things seeing there are pausing outside. With uh iranian opposition, the murder of massa amini, which sparked off this uh protest series of protests last year, but Everybody Knows whos looked at this that massa amini was not murdered by the Iranian State and indeed by anybody, and so what we see is a constant of propaganda, and i was aware of this, ive been studying propaganda in ireland, in iraq, in afghanistan for 30 years now, and so i was aware of this, but i i wanted to come to see iran for my and see. Uh trying get sense myself of what they was like provide as a result of that uh an indication of how the country in reality differs from the uh the drumbeat of lies which one gets in the western media. Who benefits from this type of uh hybrid media hybrid war and this type of uh antiiran propaganda who benefits the most from this . Well its the its the us and the us has been behind the sanctions from from very early on and has a civic Economic Warfare uh element in the department of the treasury which prosecutes these uh these sanctions, but of course the the question about whether this is actually an americas interests and the abstract is an interesting one because really there are people in america now who are questioning whether it makes sense for america to continue to target iran in the way in which it does, and theyre asking the question about whether really uh the the the place and the country which benefits the most from this uh post you to iran is or is not the zist entity and of course if it was the case that the u. S. Took a Global Leadership role to promote peace then what it would do is it it would resolve the sanctions on iran and it would instead target israel which of course is the main reason why there is uh lack of security and peace in the middle east so the question about israel and its role is a central and and in the entry we look at that in some depth, look at the relationship between uh israel and the the attacks by by mossad on iranian scientist for example and the the role of example us British Intelligence in hybrid war against iran. Mr. Miller, um, in our lead up to this interview, we said that you spoken with ordinary people uh in iran, intellectuals, about various issues. One of those issues was the role of the west and the uk throughout iranian history. Could you share with us your findings in that regard . Well, these are these findings are not terribly surprising for anyone who knows uh. Little bit about the history of iran, i mean the the role of the of the cia and indeed of the British Intelligence agency mi6 in the q 1953 is well documented the british had been trying to uh subvert and uh perform a coup in iran for some months but they hadnt been able to get the cia involved and it was only when they convinced the cia to be that the cou could happen they could depose and then of course um when when the the. The west candidate uh became unstable and was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution, the the west, including the uk and indeed the us tried to uh sabotage the the uh Islamic Republic, not least through backing the the war which is called holy defense in iran uh with iraq, so all the way through this process there have been uffarious activities from the us and in particular from the uk, and that those go right up to the current. Day, it looks like from recent revelations, we discussed this in the documentary that britains mi6 has been involved in some of the mosad uh at least one the most sad assassinations of the scientists. Now this is a, this is an appalling way of of engaging in cover action to undermine uh the the republic and and but its something which continues to this day, what we what we should be seeing, it seems to me is uh is um western countries taking a much more mature line towards um. Multipolarity and trying to find a way to get on with with iran and indeed with russia and china, the so far western countries so little sign of doing that. All right, thanks lot, academic broadcaster and investigative researcher, david miller joining us from bristol. That is a terrorist attack, imagine how the us would label a person or event a person stand outside one of your embassy around the world throw to molotov, would the would the would the us label this as a civilian case or a hatred or any okay case . Met all there in table tenniss and individual immense individual uh competitions in category uh defeated his uh tragic uh opponent and definitely he made way into the next stage and general speak if you want to put it that way the overall standing of the one uh on the on the fifth day after the official of the 19th asian games is 11th so so far he wants ranks 11th in the 19th phasion games by already having five bronze medals, four silver medals and one gold medal, well the us has often said that it is not after conflict with china yet, it has acted otherwise, especially when it comes to military sales, the us is now negotiating to supply vietnam with the arms package, including f16 fighter jets, which could possibly. Possibly be the largest arms transfer in their history. The us president joeden went a 3 day to asia recently, his trip included stops in india for the20 summit, then vietnam to upgrade their bilateral relationship. The purpose of this trip was to enhance us relationship with regional countries, especially in a g20 format, but that is just a formal way of not saying the two intentions of the us president were. For starters, joe biden had said that his intentions to strengthen ties with chinas neighbors werent designed to contain beijing, a phrase that he has repeated again and again. He has said things like, i dont want to contain china. Were not trying to hurt china. Americas goal is getting the relationship right. I am sincere about getting the relationship right, and one of the things that is. Going on now is china is beginning to change some of the rules of the game, but his visit to vietnam right after the g20 summit related a different message the two countries signed a historic agreement to upgrade relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. Joe biden secured deals with vietnam on semiconductors and minerals. So important is vietnam for the us that executives from google, intel, amcore, marvel, global foundary. And boing met with vietnamese tech executives along with the secretary of state anthony blincon for more deals with semiconductors the centerpiece of action plan adopted during byans visit. So what gives why is vietnam so important to the us . Its pretty obvious. The us wants to rival china and at the same time inflict economic damage. So much for biden saying were not trying to hurt china. But the u. S. Has other plans for vietnam, which was not announced yet. The us goal in the indopacific region is to make china face a stiff competition, as it is called it. This involves not only military sales, but also uh partnering with countries in such sectors as semiconductors, aviation and technology, this way the us aims to prevent chinas economic advancement, so that it can redeem its superpower status, which many claim is already lost. After the us and vietnam elevated the rela relationship to comprehensive strategic partnership, there were reports that the us and vietnam were negotiating major arms deal, perhaps the biggest in their history, one that would involve f16 fighter jets. Here are some interesting facts behind vietnam military relationship. Since an arms and was lifted in 2016, us arms exports to vietnam were limited to just coast guard ships and trainer aircrafts, so from coast guard ships and trainer aircraft. To f16 fighter jets, what gives, by the way, russia has supplied about 80 of vietnams military arsenal, yet vietnam is just one of many countries that the us has been selling military equipment to in the asia pacific region. Here is snapshot. Oh spray aircraft to indonesia for 2 billion dollars, 2 billion and upgrades taiwan, 30 billion to south korea, 2 billion in attack helicopters as well as ports to the philippines and 23. 11 billion dollars to japan for 105 f35, joint Strike Fighter aircraft and related equipment. No wonder china is angered. The us actions do not match its when it comes to china. It is clear that it wants to militarize the region very similar to how it did with nato countries in europe, the target there being russia. The Chinese ForeignMinistry Spokesman urged washington to abandon. The cold war mentality and to refrain from provoking an arms race in asia. China hope that when develop bilateral relations and conducting cooperation, countries will effectively abide the basic norm of international relations, aband hirmany and cold war thinking, stop provoking confrontation and stimulating arms, but that has fallen on uss deaf ears. The us has gone all out to align region countries with it, pop bun issues like. Taiwan, north korea and the disputed islands are cars that the us plays to its favor to do that, but the region will soon turn to a tinder box if it hasnt already, and it would only take one spark, like the taiwan issue or north korea for it to explode. Ethnic armenians continue to leave nagornokarabakh following last weeks military offensive by azerbaijan to take full control of the disputed region. Armenian Officials Say over 42,000 refugees from nagornokarabakh have so far arrived in the country. The exodus continues despite azerbaijans pledge to reintegrate Ethnic Armenians as equal citizens. This is one of the biggest movements of people in the south caucasus report suggesting traffic cases and roads. On that is leading to armenia, the combined death toll from the short offensive now stands at over 400. Azerbaijan says lost 192 of its soldiers and a civilian during the operation, and Ethnic Armenians have revised up their death toll to 213. The nagornokarabakh region is internationally recognized as part of azerbaijan, but is home to majority of Ethnic Armenians. Lets wrap.
