Political analyst joining us out of brussels and najim manager at canadian defenders for human rights, joining us from toronto. Hello gentlemen, i like to welcome you both to the program. I guess we will start there in brussels with you, mr. Elijah magneer, so what do you make of the saudis meeting with some factions of palestinian leadership there in the occupied west bank, and we have heard nothing about. A meeting with resistance groups, is that possibly a red flag . Thank you for having me. I think this is a first step for the saudis to normalize in the latest step with israel. At the end of the day, the ambassador theyve sent to jerusalem and to meet with the Palestinian Authority is an ambassador who has been in jordan, has long experience in contacting and and meeting with the israelis, we have to keep in mind that saudi arabia has sent already several saudi delegations to israel years ago and is in continuing the cooperation with israel, the only thing that is missing is the public announcement, and for that to happen, i think saudi arabia needs to prepare the ground, and by preparing the ground, it needs at least the palestinian. Authority to be its side because the palestinion authority and president Mahmoud Abbas that has been president since 2005 and is not willing to allow other people to present on and replace him is someone who is cooperating particularly on the security level with the israelis, he is the one responsible for the arrest of many Palestinian Resistance and in the Palestinian Authority area, and he is not someone who is willing to collaborate with all the resistant parties in gaza. This is why the saudi is good to the person who is already in good contact with the israeli who can lay the ground before the final decision of the saudies to normalize with israel. Thank you, mr. Magnier, mr. Firz, welcome to the program, theyre out of toronto. Do you share mr. Magneers concerns because uh the saudis have for years ruled out any talks or normalization or recognition of the regime until they guarantee the palestinians, their state and their rights. Do you feel that is becoming compromised at the stage of the game . Yes, well, you know, its very clear that the saudi regime has always worked in the interest of the Israeli Regime by standing against the resistance groups especially like in the war of 2006 between his. Allah in israel, we seen a very, very, unjust stand from the saudi regime, we see that they have destroying their neighboring country, yemen, that is very key support of nation to the palistinian cause, we see that the saudi regime has helped the normalization between bahrain and israel, has helped the normalization between the uae and israel, i mean its very clear that. They are in support of normalization with normalization with israel, but they are scared of the backlash and the response of their nation, how they will stand up against this normalization and they will reject it, because you know a good a good portion of the saudi uh people, the nation itself are against israel, are against the occupation, theyre against the dissecretion of the holy alaqsa mask and so much uh violations against muslims and muslim women in ramadan in the holy month of ramadan and other other times. I mean, the saudi regime has always been prepping up for the day where they were publicly and now. Their normalization with israel, but we we didnt hear any condemmination when they seen that the uae normalized with israel or when bahrain normalized with israel and there we know its very obvious by the the media and the news and if anyone does any basic research hell know that the bahraini regime and the uae regime work in coordination with the saudi regime and when the you when the bahraini regime was under danger when the people were rising up against this tired regime the ones that came to save. This this regime was the saudi and uae, so its very clear that they are in support of the israeli rajib, unfortunately this is a big backstab to the whole islamic world and to the Palestinian People, i mean the Palestinian People are going to be very, very hurt by this, seeing the land thats supposed to be, the holiest land for muslims being ruled by these people that are socalled muslim rulers that will. Go and work with the enemies of islam and and and normalize with them and and this is empowering their occupation and supporting them, so this is very big betray to the islamic woman. Right, thank you, and mr. Elijah magneer, can you proclaim to care for the palestinian cause, palestinians right to sovereign state of palestinian identity and selfdetermination, at the same time, normalized ties with the very regime that has and wants to continue to deny palestinians. Are those very things . It is impossible to do both. You see today when the saudi ambassador arrived to palestine, at the same time you have the israeli tourism minister, arrived to saudi arabia, so we see the arrival of the israely minister, saying that the rurism is a bridge between nations. Its a clear indication that the saudis are way ahead in the normalization with israel. Secondly is if the oslo agreement that was announced by Benyamin Netanyahu is that how the saudies can ask the return of the palestinian rights and territory when you have a Prime Minister was saying there is nothing such a palestine thirdly Benyamin Netanyahu. Was at the United Nations showing map where palestine doesnt exist at all, map of 1948, and when Benyamin Netanyahu is saying, there is no place for the palestinian, and when the west bank, all the areas, area a, b, and j, area a, is totally under the israeli violation, even in the west bank, so the israelis are taking what is not there, taking what the austlo agreement gave to the palestinians and increasing the settlements by thousands every year, therefore it is not up to the saudis to give back the right of the palestinian by normalizing with the israel with israel. The only way that prove that israel language understand is the language of force and weve seen how gaza imposed so many times on the israelis deterrance only. By using their missiles and rocket, it is not by normalizing the relationship between the arab state and the muslim state and israel that the palestinian will gain back their rights when the israelis are telling us there is nothing to be given to the palestinian anymore and do you agree with that firaz that the israel regime only understands force because if you if you remember back in uh february of 2020 when um Donald Trumps regime tried to come up with this uh palestinian and israeli Peace Process where the palestinian give up 30 of the west bank to annexation and get money for it in return the palestinians laughed at it and then uh the Trump Administration was going to go ahead and allow the israelies to do it anyway to annex 30 of the occupied west bank the uae came in and said we will normalize if you do not conduct that annexation but guess what the israels are slowly taking that land block by block neighborhood by neighborhood under everyones uh you know nose so my question to you, can the regime be trusted, and does it to mr. Magneers point, only understand force . I mean, the Israeli Regime was built by force and by evicting the palestinians and stealing their land, and the only way it can be deal with is by force, and we seen that gradually over time that the only way that they actually uh bow down and give you some type of rights or pull back is by force, we seen that in 2006 when hizballah went into. With them, thats the only way they were able to release all the prisoners that are lebanese from the israeli jails, they tried through United Nations, they tried two different ways and it never was successful, the only way it was but was. By the strong resistance and righteous leadership and righteous plans, and this is the way that it works with Israeli Regime, and now that gaza has been equipped and and and and Strong Enough to resist, um, they they always um, you know, think twice, three times, four times before going into any battle with the gaza strip, and uh, you know, gaza is now lot stronger because of the resistance, and you know the saudi regime is making a big mistake, its a big mistake for them because they will also compromise their relationship with the Islamic Republic of iran, that is the key important country supporting the palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinian Resistance, and this was an opportunity for them to patch things up and to build an alliance that could work against the israelis and hopefully help the palestinians liberate their land, but now they are pushing towards supporting the occupation and being more of puppets and and more of people that dont have any sovereignty and this is not in the interest the saudi regime. Candem the saudi regime for making these moves and going towards normalization and betraying the Palestinian People, because the Palestinian People have been violated and been living the the most difficult life and they need support, they need resistance, they need people that will fight for their rights and not people that will trample on their rights like the rest of the world, as we see the United Nations have been watching these violations uh happening for so many years, countless amounts of violations and we never see them in any way penalized israeli re the only people that were able to penalize the israeli regim was the righteous resistance uh such as hizbullah and hamas and Islamic Jihad and the the beautiful resistance thats happening in west bank and junida and all these places and we support the resistance in jerusalem as well everywhere all over palestine thank you uh feraz and mr uh Elijah Magnier to feraz this point i want to put this um to you he mentioned that this is going to be bad normalization for riad tehranties but want to one go one step further, i want to say that uh tel aviv has been not too good of a neighbor to Anyone Around it, not for jordan, not for syria, not for lebanon, obviously, not for the palestinians, so the saudi kingdom, how does it think that its going to impact its ties with those countries, and those people, and and needless to say for the region, how is this even good for the kingdom and the region as a whole . Saudi arabia doesnt care about what the other . People think, particularly in the region, saudi arabia now wants zero problem is all its neighbors, because they have economic and project for 2030 where they want Good Relationship with everybody, nonetheless, the population in the middle east reacted during the world cup to the presence of israeli journalists in on their territory, particularly in qatar, a country that has been in good. Relationship with israel for the last 20 years, therefore there is a big gap between all the leaders in the arab states and their own people and the population, and that include jordan, include egypt, and include morocco, bahrain, qatar, and now saudi arabia, so to start seeing this saudi receiving the israeli delegation, one after the other, this month, been a delegation of the israel. Cabinet this next week is going to be another israeli delegation that is going to speak at the un congress at the unesco World Heritage so all that is just to make sure that people are accustom to see israelis on their territory and we talking about the holy land when we talk about mecca and we talk about saudi arabia, this is not in theory should not be permitted, however the. Behavior of the saudies looks like is really careless about the people think and doesnt give a weight to the population but gives weight to its own interest and so believe that it is in its own interest to have Good Relationship with israel even if israel has been deterred in lebanon has been deterred in with the iranians and israel is limited in its action today and to sabotage it. And intelligence attack and only riots and directing riots is no longer capable of claiming to be the strongest arm in the middle east, so the behavior of these arab leaders to come close to israel, to please whom, to please themselves or to to offer peace that israel doesnt want and doesnt want to give back any right to the palestinians the oslo agreement failed to do so. If all the attempts of the palestinian to live with the jew and to live with the israelis in two states are the palestinian agree, they really refuse it, so how can you accept go and polize with israel when the people in egypt are behaving still today completely in a very hostile way against the israelis, the jord are doing exactly the same, the moroccans are doing the same, no country where in the arab world where there are normal relationship between the state and israel, the population feel exactly the same, completely the opposite, so i dont think at all the saudis are aiming to give any right of the palestinian, the United Nations article 194 has never been implemented, the right of return has never been given to the palestinian, the two state has never been agreed by the israelis and i dont think saudi arabia is going to have a magic wond and implemented. Interesting, and feras, your thoughts also on that, what mr. Magneer was saying, because even abraham, the socalled Abraham Accords the. Themselves, they gave uh bahrain and the uae some investment uh contracts, some security contracts, some promise of some uh fighter jets and whatnot, morocco got recognition of the Western Sahara piece of desert, no one got anything for the palestinian, and then uh, what sudan got taken off of a terrorist uh list, it got uh loan for 1. 2 billion dollars that it could you know take care of its loan to the world bank, i dont hear the word palestinian, palestinian issue, palestinian cause out of any of these arab states, so when it comes to the socalled Abraham Accords uh your thoughts on the us as mediator to normalize using these accords to bring riad and tel aviv into the same room when the name palestinian or the identity of the palestinians or their cause is not getting mentioned one time or the word concessions yes i mean its very clear the american um regime is mafia right and uh its all the way they work is by blackmailing and bribing and uh manipulating things to the interests and benefits of that nation. So they see the weak points of that nation or that government and then they uh you know somehow blackmail them some way in in a way or bribe them in a certain way and then they they they they um bind these agreements these agreements are all illegitimate theyre all unjust they have no interest for the policys in any way and especially today we now you have the most extremest radical Israeli Cabinet these people are very antipalestinian theyre very islamophobic they have no respect for muslims in any way youve seen what they did in ramadans uh every ramadan there is always desecretion to the masks, theres disrespect to the muslims and is publicly aired on tv and social media, they have no care for anything, mean the only solution for this is a one state solution, palestinian state where the palestinian, muslims, christians and jews choose their destiny and choose the government that they want to rule them, and that is obviously by either the Israeli Regime, you know being dismantled, selfdisment itself or being liberated by the resistance force, and the south. Regime should know that the Islamic Republic of iran is working righteously and paying the price by living under sanctions and all types of defamation projects and so on support the palestinians, they theyre not, for them its its illegal and its totally off off the book to normalize with the Israeli Regime, the Israeli Regime is a cancer in the region and its all weve seen was destabilization to the whole region and and so much divisions and bloodshed because of the Israeli Regime they have. They have their heads involved in so much assassinations and killings in the world. Thank you, and mr. Magneer, you noticed every country that has attempted normalization or has gone through with normalization, has had huge blowback from its own population, the people do not want this happening. Do you see the same thing with saudi arabia, and right now we have the israeli touris and its first Israeli Cabinet member ever visit the kingdom. Can you imagine israelis, do they have safety to travel to saudi arabia in the future . Well youre talking about regime where there is no democracy, there is no election, there are no government who are elected by parliament or approved by the parliament, theyre talking about kingdoms where there is one man who is ruling the country and all the others are like a bouquet of flour and folcloric presence to say there are those who are managing the country, however because the decision is in the hand of one person, this is why the. Depending on the view of this person that the people need to adapt and adjust without necessary accepting what this ruler is doing, but they cant rise against the rulers otherwise they will be completely crash, so i dont think the population in saudi arabia will rise against what the saudies rulers are doing, because weve seen delegation, israeli delegation in saudi arabia. And weve seen the security and intelligence delegation from saudi arabia in palestine meeting the israelis on several occasions, so this flow. Backward and forward and a meeting between muhammad bin salman Benyamin Netanyahu in neom, few years ago, all that went unnoticed by the saudi population, or at least there is no voice for the saudi population in the media where they can express themselves against what the ruler is doing, otherwise they will end up like all the other opposition, the example of kamal khajugji is still very vivid in the mind of the. People, so the opposition in saudi arabia have no right to speak, they will be killed or they will be persecuted, or they will be all their asset will be dismantled and their families will be put in jail, so for that we will, i dont think we will hear a strong opposition from the population in saudi arabia. I want to thank you both for joining us in the program, gentlemen, nevertheless palestinians will call it huge stab in the back if riad goes through with this. I want to thank you both for putting your time and joining us on press tv. Mr. Elijah magneer, journalist and political analyst, there joining us from brussels and feras al naj manager at canadian defenders for human rights, joining us from toronto, canada, and viewers, that brings us to the conclusion of this segment of your press tv spotlight. Thank you for joining us and byebye for now. Im john murray and this is the conversation. Effectively the British Government dont want an international spotlight on their actions in the conflict in ireland. I mean the uk has a long history in covering up with human rights abuses. Its not supposed to be stansy germany. If this is a democratic society, lets open the fans. But its so important to have alternative voices. There are still many many unanswered questions. Theyre uncomfortable questions. And this is the conversation where we take an alternative look at the. Events and Current Affairs through an rcc. I was born in erzinjan turkey which is in the east of anatolia. So my career at stanford was very interesting and fruitful when i was contacted by uh coch university for the presidency of this fantastic university. The research that i did stanford over 36 years involved the space that is around the planet earth and its upper atmosphere. Its very interesting because the atmosphere as you go higher in altitude gets thinner and thinner and at some point the density of the atmosphere becomes so thin that. The suns rays and ultraviolet radiation from the sun ionizes the atmosphere, so the atmosphere, instead of being a neutral atmosphere where you can breathe, it turns into electrons and ions and electrical environment, in this electrical environment, its called ionosphere, and beyond this environment is the socalled magnetosphere, the magnetosphere is dominated by the earths Magnetic Field and some of the most interesting physical processes take place is region of the planet, so in my group, we studied everything from the clouds where lightning occurs enormous ethical discharges, all the way up to thousands of kilometers away from the planet, not all the way to the moon, but about halfway to the moon, all the electrical processes that follow. I had heard about the mustafa prize back in. 2015 when it first got started and i was very pleased to see that uh theres a prize uh that is a prestigious prize uh for for islamic scientists in islamic countries. It means jacket, this jacket, ready, im lemoto here on press tv, and i want you to join me, dogs, the heavy show that makes light work, serious politics, thats press tv, cats and dogs, lb opack, dont miss it.
