The pre-board exam of Punjab School Education Bord (PSEB), which was scheduled to start on January 20, will now be held on January 29 as the dates are coincing with the Navodaya exam. Term II exams for non-board classes will be held from Monday onwards. Meanwhile, all subject teachers will attend seminars at block level. Amid the cold wave in the region, the Punjab government has extended primary school holidays till January 21. Lessons for remaining classes will start from January 15 (Monday). Meanwhile, many government school principals and teachers said that they might face issues at several schools due to staff crunch as teachers would have to juggle exam duty and seminars. A government school teacher said, “The department slated a lot of activities in January this year. These activities are generally held in September or October. Activities include SST, English, Science and Maths fairs; block, district and state-level science competition; quiz and teachers seminars. The quiz which was to be held on January 15 and 16 has been postponed. The district-level science competition scheduled for January 9 and state-level science competition to be held on January 12 were also postponed. New dates have not been announced yet.
