Posts overstate debt impact of Trump tax cuts

Liberal activists claim tax cuts under former US president Donald Trump are responsible for about one-fourth of the national debt. This is false; while deficits did balloon during the Republican's administration, exceptional spending in response to the coronavirus pandemic was the largest factor.
