“That really sparked my interest, and I really fell in love with it,” he said.
Chandler draws inspiration from the entire Levant, such as Lebanese, Syrian, Iraqi and Palestinian cuisines.
“That whole region is so huge and so full of flavors,” Chandler said.
He gravitates toward street foods, but customers won’t find shawarma or falafel, since they can find them readily in other Milwaukee-area restaurants. “I have nothing to add to that story,” Chandler said; instead, he’s interested in shining a light on less-broadly known dishes and ingredients.
The menu does have hummus ($5) as a side dish, as well as harra frites ($6), fries with jalapeño, Aleppo pepper, harissa sauce, nigella seeds and herbs.
